"Garlandolf, King of Destruction":

This card's name is also similar to Ganondorf, another name for Ganon, the final boss in most of the Legend of Zelda video games. Ganon, in the games, is also entitled "King of Darkness".

This card is a counterpart to Divine Grace - Northwemko; its effect destroys monsters while Norsewemko's protects them. Also, the names of the monsters and the rituals mirror each other (Destruction versus Salvation) and they have the same total ATK and DEF (3900).

This card bears a resemblance to the Dark Lucius series and Diabolos, King of the Abyss.

This card has a parallel counterpart: Demise, King of Armageddon. Although both destroy monsters with their effects, this card's effect differs because it can also gain ATK points due to its effect.
