  • This card has a slight resemblance to Thunder End Dragon, possibly being a younger version of it. Though this is unlikely intended due to Lightpulsar Dragon being Level 6 and Thunder End Dragon being Rank 8.
  • This card has similar summoning requirements to the other "Chaos" Monsters.
  • This card looks similar to "Felgrand Dragon".
  • This card also looks strikingly similar to Priest Seto's Garestgolath spirit monster in the Millennium World arc.
  • This card is the LIGHT counterpart of "Darkflare Dragon". Both have "Chaos"-style Summoning requirements, this card's effect can Special Summon "Darkflare" ("Darkflare" is a Level 5 DARK Dragon-Type, the exact minimum for the effect of "Lightpulsar"), and "Darkflare" can send this card to the Graveyard in order to be Special Summoned by its own effect. Also each one mirrors the position of the other.
    • Moreover, both monsters depict space phenomena: pulsar for "Lightpulsar Dragon" and sun flare for "Darkflare Dragon".
  • This card, along with "Darkflare Dragon", are the first two cards to share the role of being Cover Cards for a Structure Deck.
  • This is one of the few cards whose effect was retroactively edited before it was even released (being changed from "If this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard," to "When this card...").
