I'm taking a couple formats off. I'm waiting for either something cool to be top tier or the game to be more balanced. I'm playing the Pokemon TCG right now, much cheaper and more fun imo.--Helix-king (talk • contribs) 03:46, August 2, 2012 (UTC)

Revision as of 03:46, 2 August 2012

So, I'm sure there are others that feel the same way I do, but I'll explain anyway. Last format, I had a lot of fun, I didn't really care about the meta or anything like that, but I focused more on Duel Terminal Archetypes, and as some of you may know, I loved the Gishki. Now that was fun and entertaining, this format, I can't seem to find a deck that is just interesting. A few of the Archetypes have caught my eye, but it feels odd, and this format seems so boring, I mean last format was great just because there was so much room for ingenuity and radical card choices that needed to be tested. This format just doesn't, I don't know, maybe I've played Yu-Gi-Oh! for too long or something. Either way, anyone else feel just bored? ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 16:41, July 28, 2012 (UTC)

 • Yep. I only just got back into Yu-Gi-Oh! again recently, having been out of it a few months due to the format being awful. Just waiting for the new list now. If the major problems don't get fixed, I may drop it again until they do.--YamiWheeler (talkcontribs) 16:46, July 28, 2012 (UTC)

My deck choices end up almost unaffected by the format, since I tend to play casual a lot more than competitive. Just saying that it's an option. Battlemaniac (talkcontribs) 11:09, July 29, 2012 (UTC)

I do play casually, but even playing casually feels odd. At this moment, I'm also waiting for the banlist to see what card choices are viable or no longer needed. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 12:44, July 29, 2012 (UTC)

I'm glad to see that Dragons finally got the support they needed to top, since I really like dragons. Spellcasters look like they may be next, which is also big for many people. And I'm also glad that the really rare, "must have" cards don't stay rare and overpriced for long. Still, Konami seems to have a habit of dumping really strange new archetypes on us lately. And that last ban list (Mar 2012) really got me - it made no sense. Made me wonder what's really going on. I'm not even following discussions on what the Sept 2012 ban list might have since I'm pretty sure it isn't going to be rooted in any logic we will understand. ---Kungfu-mama (Talk) 20:40, July 29, 2012 (UTC)

Not really for me because I like to try to oppose the meta. Hopefully they'll be good TCG cards in Return of the Duelist. Fallensilence (talkcontribs) 20:48, July 29, 2012 (UTC)

It's not the format, but time seems to have slowed to a crawl between packs lately. Not quite sure why it suddenly feels this way. Maybe because I'm not in school anymore. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 06:20, July 30, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, that too. Guess we got spoiled because Konami was trying to catch us up to the Japanese release cycle. Now things are going back to where we were again. ---Kungfu-mama (Talk) 02:49, July 31, 2012 (UTC)
On the other hand, I live on the OCG side... --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 12:07, July 31, 2012 (UTC)

All about winning?

These days I seem to come across duelists who are so serious. You try and have a laugh with them, and they don't say a word. I feel this is down to the cards being released which require less thinking power and can just be played fairly easily. *Points at "Inzektor Hornet"*. They start to think that as the game has cards which makes winning easier, the game is all about winning. That is a shame. It's not true! I took down "Shooting Star Dragon" yesterday using my "Ojama" deck! --SuperSponge!! 06:41, July 30, 2012 (UTC)

I agree 100%. :/ Xerdek! (talkcontribs) 06:46, July 30, 2012 (UTC)
 • To be fair, not everyone wants to talk during a duel. Some people are thinking of plays they can do well in-advance, and considering most of DN's playerbase is full of braindead amebas, I can see why people wouldn't want to chat.--YamiWheeler (talkcontribs) 06:49, July 30, 2012 (UTC)
I guess only skilled players can chat. XD Xerdek! (talkcontribs) 06:54, July 30, 2012 (UTC)
I do agree with you to a certain extent but I mean just general chat about cards and decks; having a laugh when you/opponent make a good/bad move or when you/opponent runs a fun deck. Things like that. --SuperSponge!! 07:02, July 30, 2012 (UTC)
