The Laval monsters are an Archetype released in Duel Terminal - Vairon Descends!!. Their name seems to be a corruption of the word "Lava" (It's similar to how the Flamvell-archetype was named). Their team symbol is an orange flame often carved into a flat stone or disc. All known Lavals are FIRE so they can use FIRE support cards such as "Backfire", "Spiritual Fire Art - Kurenai", "Molten Destruction" and be Special Summoned by "UFO Turtle". Also most of them are Warrior or Pyro-Type.

The main strategy of the Laval monsters relies on sending members of the archetype to the Graveyard, then manipulating them for various purposes, attack gain, damage, etc. The 'dragon' of the archetype, "Lavalval Dragon", relies on monsters being in the Graveyard to send cards on the field to the opponents hand. The archetype has overall great recycling potential and can work well in combination with Lightsworns or Dark World cards.

Another good "partner"-archetype are Flamvell since both archetypes are FIRE based and most of the members are Pyro-Type monsters. "Laval Forest Sprite", "Tender of the Laval Volcano", "Laval Lancelord", and "Kayenn, the Master Magma Blacksmith" can benefit from cards like "Flamvell Firedog" or "Rekindling" to swarm the field.

All Synchro Monsters always require 1 or more non-Tuner FIRE Monsters.

Laval 200 Deck

This Deck is all about the Flamvell and Laval combinations. Many Flamvell and Laval Decks count on "Flamvell Firedog" and "Rekindling" for quick Synchros, which this Deck can do, however it also utilizes other card's such as "Laval Cannoneer" and "Laval Lancelord" to speed the Deck up. Cards that remove from play your Laval and Flamvell cards like "Magflare the Molten Swordsman", "Searing Fire Wall", and "Rekindling" actually help to recycle monsters thanks to "Laval Lancelord" which can add 1 FIRE monster that has been removed from play to your hand and "Laval Cannoneer" can Special Summon 1 of your removed from play Laval monsters. If you already have a Laval monster in your Graveyard you can use "Tender of the Laval Volcano" to send up to two more "Tender of the Laval Volcanos" to the Graveyard with another Laval monster afterwards for cards like "Pot of Avarice" and this Deck's trump card "Lavalval Dragon". Laval's Magma Artillery is a great monster not only it sends Lavals and Flamvells to the graveyard but also has a defense of 200 being special summoned by Rekindling, Flamvell's trump card. Laval Gunner is also good due to its milling capability sending many monsters to the graveyard ready for Rekindling. Lavalval Dragoon is much more better than Lavalval Dragon due to its decent attack and great searching effect while sending FIRE type monster to the graveyard.
