"New Order" (Japanese: NOニューオーダーズ Nyū Ōdāzu, New Orders) is an anime-only series of LIGHT Xyz monsters used by Eliphas. Each card in the series serves as a Ranked-Up version of the previous monster, which can be accomplished by the cards "Ascension Spiral" and "Rank-Up-Magic Astral Force". These cards allow monsters to be Ranked Up by two Ranks rather than one - a feature that this series is the first to use. The name "New Order" ties in with the various ideas of a New World Order, which their user in the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL anime has established in the Astral World by diverting the entire world's resources towards "Ranking-up" the inhabitants. In addition, the term "new order" could also imply a change in military tactics, which parallels the desire of Eliphas to delete Astral's memories of Yuma to make him back into a soldier– an act of giving him "new orders".

All cards in the series also contain the word "Etheric" (エーテリック Ēterikku), which is also a legitimate name for the series. Etheric is also a word which can be connected to various psychic and spiritual beliefs, such as Etheric plane, Etheric body as well as Aether, the classical element once believed to have composed most of outer space. Additionally, each monster is named after an Egyptian god. Also, the number of glowing gems on each monster's glyphs is equal to their own Rank.

The New Order also appear to be connected to the "Numbers", since when they are summoned, they have the same galaxy-like Overlay Network as them, as well as each having New Order symbol, resembling a glowing cartouche with Egyptian numerals inside, appear on-screen similarly to each Number. Also, the name "New Order" on the Japanese cards is abbreviated NO, in contrast to how "Numbers" monsters have their cards with the abbreviation No.
