Odin

Odin, named after Odin from Norse mythology, is the true antagonist in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Duel Transer.

Biography

The player duels Odin in Yggdrasil 4F.

After defeating Surtr, Odin teleports the player and his friends from Yggdrasil to Bifröst. While continuing to Duel against the endless amount of Transcenders, Odin reveals that Bifröst has the power to corrupt and control Duelists who have darkness in their hearts.

Odin duels the player a second time in Hlidskjalf. After the duel, Surtr resurfaces and attacks Odin, but only manages to destroy his armor before Odin counterattacks and destroys Surtr.

Now unmasked, Odin is the final boss of the game.

After his final defeat, Odin attempts to take everyone on the island with him by making the Ragnarok Tower collapse, but they manage to escape, leaving him to be killed alone.

The Tattered Journal found in Niflheimr narrates Odin's backstory, and explains his spirit was possessing the body of a woman called Alina during the events of the game.

Odin's Decks feature a number of elements from Norse mythology, such as Valhalla and Gungnir, Odin's spear.
