• The two Duel in a Shadow Game. When a monster is destroyed, its owner will lose pieces of their memory
• Mai gets hold of The Winged Dragon of Ra, but can't use it because her blood is not part of the Royal Egyptians and therefore, can't read the ancient text on the card.

Duel Recap

• Mai Summons Dunames Dark Witch.
• Marik Summons Revival Jam in Defense Position and activates Jam Breeding Machine.
• Mai attacks, but Revival Jam reforms.
• A Slime Token is Special Summoned. Marik activates Pot of Greed and Sets a card.
• Mai activates Harpie's Feather Duster, then destroys Slime Token with her monster, dropping Marik's Life Points to 2700. She then Sets a card.
• Marik Summons Melchid the Four-Face Beast, then Tributes it and Revival Jam to Special Summon Masked Beast Des Gardius. He attacks, but Mai activates Mirror Wall to reduce its ATK in half. Dunames Dark Witch destroys it and Marik's Life Points drop to 2550, but Masked Beast Des Gardius's effect activates, allowing Marik to activate 1 The Mask of Remnants from his Deck and equipping it to Dunames Dark Witch, letting him take control of her. He then activates Remove Trap to destroy Mirror Wall.
• Mai Sets a card and Summons The Unfriendly Amazon. It destroys Dunames Dark Witch and drops Marik's Life Points to 2350.
• Marik Summons Makyura the Destructor and equips it with Black Pendant, raising its ATK to 2100. He attacks, but Mai activates Amazoness Archers to reduce its ATK to 1600. It gets destroyed and Marik's Life Points drop to 1950. However, when Black Pendant is destroyed, Mai loses 500 Life Points. Makyura the Destructor's effect activates, letting Marik activate a Trap Card from his hand. He chooses Rope of Life, which Special Summons Makyura with 800 more ATK. It destroyed The Unfriendly Amazon and drops Mai's Life Points to 3100.
• Mai Summons Amazoness Chain Master and Sets a card.
• Marik Summons Holding Arms, which prevents Mai's monster from attacking for three turns.
• Mai activates Grave Arm to destroy Amazoness Chain Master. This activates her activate, letting Mai pay 1000 Life Points to take one card from Marik's Deck. She chooses The Winged Dragon of Ra. She then Sets two cards and Summons Amazoness Fighter.
• Marik attacks, but Mai activates Amazoness Spellcaster, switching Makyura the Destructor's ATK with those of Amazoness Fighter. Makyura is destroyed and Marik's Life Points drop to 1050, but decreasing its ATK allowed Marik to activate Card of Last Will, letting him draw 5 cards. Makyura's effect allows Marik to activate Nightmare Wheel from his hand. Mai activates Dramatic Rescue, returning Amazoness Fighter to her hand and letting her Special Summon Cyber Harpie Lady.
• Mai activates Graceful Charity, then Elegant Egotist, turning 1 Harpie Lady into 3. She then Tributes them to Summon The Winged Dragon of Ra. However, it gets locked in a sphere of light, and she can't use it since she can't read the ancient text on the card. She Sets a card.
• Marik Summons Holding Legs (which in turn summons the Sacred Stone of Ojhat chaining Mai to it so she cannot reach her deck), returning all Spell and Trap Cards on the field to their owner's hand. He attacks her directly with Holding Arms and Holding Legs, reducing her Life Points to 800. He then announces the ancient text on The Winged Dragon of Ra, letting him regain control of the card. With 5400 ATK, it attacks Mai directly, winning the Duel for Marik. (Ra technically attacks Mai, Joey, and Yugi. Joey tried to protect Mai while Yugi took the brunt of the attack, but Joey and Yugi weren't active participants in the duel)
