Broken World (世（せ）壊（かい） Sekai) is a series of Field Spell Cards related to "Visas Starfrost" and the "Scareclaw", "Tearlaments", "Kashtira", and "Mannadium" archetypes.

Etymology

The Japanese name of the series (世（せ）壊（かい） Sekai) is a homophone of「世（せ）界（かい）」 (Sekai, "world"), with the second character Kai being replaced by 「壊（かい）」 (Hakai, "destruction" or "break"). All Broken World Field Spell Cards also add another character in front of those two, a number written in its daiji form, and as such their Japanese names follow the scheme "[Number] Broken World - [Name]". In English, they're instead simply called "Planets" and given an adjective beginning with "P".

The proper names of the Broken World Field Spells seem to be a combination of the word "kingdom" or "realm" in various languages and a word referring to the theme of the associated archetype.

Playing style

The Broken World cards are Field Spells that share 3 similar effects:

• The first can either add "Visas Starfrost" (except for "Pressured Planet Wraitsoth") or a monster of their corresponding archetype from the Deck to the hand.
• The second can change the ATK/DEF of monsters on the field.
• The third can destroy a card on the field, or trigger when a card is destroyed.
