OCG Rulings
- This effect is an optional Trigger Effect that can be activated at the end of the Damage Step. (It does not target.)[1]
- This effect cannot be activated when this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard.[1]
- When resolving the effect of "Rescueroid", if "Rescueroid" is no longer on the field, the effect is not applied. (The monster that was destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard is not returned to the hand.)[2]
- The effect of "Rescueroid" can be activated when a "roid" monster you control owned by your opponent is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard. In this case, when resolving the effect of "Rescueroid", the monster is not returned to the hand of the player who activated the effect of "Rescueroid", it is returned to its owner's hand.[3]
- Since "Elemental HERO Necroid Shaman" and "Dark Jeroid" are "roid" monsters, the effect of "Rescueroid" can be activated when they are destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard. If this effect is activated when "Elemental HERO Necroid Shaman" is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, "Elemental HERO Necroid Shaman" is returned to the Extra Deck.[4]

Previously Official Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been declared unofficial by Konami.[5] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. - You can activate "Rescueroid's" effect when "Dark Jeroid" or "Elemental Hero Necroid Shaman" is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard because they have "roid" in their card names. "Elemental Hero Necroid Shaman" would be returned to the Fusion Deck instead.
