  • This card is easily Synchro Summoned by using "Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame" to destroy a monster and Summon "Blackwing - Vayu the Emblem of Honor". Later, this card and "Vayu" can be banished from your Graveyard to Special Summon "Blackwing Armed Wing".
    • If this is done in the same turn "Blackwing - Blizzard the Far North" is Normal Summoned, the same "Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame" that was used to Summon "Blackwing - Gram the Shining Star" can be Special Summoned, and Synchro Summon a Level 6 Synchro Monster. After that, a Rank 6 Xyz Monster can be Xyz Summoned using the Level 6 Synchro Monster and "Blackwing Armed Wing".
    • If there is a face-up "Black Whirlwind" on your field, Normal Summon "Blizzard" to revive a "Blackwing" monster and fetch "Blackwing - Breeze the Zephyr". Synchro Summon "Gram" and Special Summon a "Blackwing" monster from your hand, Synchro Summon again.
  • After this card is Synchro Summoned and Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower non-Tuner "Blackwing" monster. "Blackwing - Blizzard the Far North" can be Normal Summoned, and Special Summon another "Blackwing" Tuner monster (if both survive next turn). So during that turn, Synchro Summon can be done twice using the Tuner and "Blizzard" with "Blackwing - Gram the Shining Star" and the Level 4 or lower "Blackwing" monster Special Summoned with the effect of "Gram".
    • If the monster Special Summoned by "Blizzard" was not a Tuner, but is Level 3, another "Blackwing - Gram the Shining Star" can be Synchro Summoned and Special Summon another Level 4 or lower "Blackwing" monster from the hand. Xyz Summon a Rank 5 monster using the both copies of "Gram", and the other 2 Level 4 or lower "Blackwing" monsters can be used to Xyz Summon "Number 39: Utopia" or another Rank 4/ Rank 3 monster, depending on their Levels.
    • If either "Gram" or the monster Summoned with its effect is destroyed, the other can be used as a cost for "Icarus Attack" for a likely direct attack.
