So, yesterday i build my dragunity deck, it's totally awesome and i dueled alot with my friends right now, i tried to do the Trident Dragion OTK with it (Dragunity Arma Leyvaten Equiped with Dragunity Aklys And then i syncho summoned with Dragunity Phalanx then destroy 2 cards with Trident Dragion), but my friend said that i couldn't destroy a card on the field with Dragunity Aklys effect, is this right or not?
Your friend seems to think that Aklys misses the timing to activate because the last thing to happen is the Synchro Summon of Trident Dragion. However, Aklys is a mandatory Trigger effect, which never misses the timing. You can destroy a card on the field. Also, please sign your forum posts with 4 tildes (~). You can't destroy something. It is similar to ruling #2: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Card_Rulings:Dragunity_Aklys
Aklys is sent to the grave because the monster it was equipped to was sent to the grave. At that time it is no longer equipped, it can only destroy when it is sent to the grave while equipped. -dest- (talk • contribs) 19:21, March 12, 2011 (UTC)
Hm. I disagree with that ruling, but I can't do anything about it BKSS. >.< What about when the Equipped monster is destroyed (battle or card effect), is that still the same thing? Lappyzard (talk • contribs) 22:05, March 12, 2011 (UTC)
- Same, Aklys won't trigger.
- It's not BKSS; "When this card is sent to the Graveyard while equipped to a monster, select 1 card on the field, and destroy it."
- The Equipped monster is destroyed/tributed first, then Aklys is destroyed by game mechanics (because it is not equipped to a monster)
