No. Advance Force doesn't bypass Obelisk the Tormentors effect which states that he cannot be Normal Summoned unless you tribute 3 monsters. DemonGodAsura 02:33, December 30, 2009 (UTC)

FYI, the "You must Tribute 3 monsters to Normal Summon this card (you cannot Set this card)." requirement is not an effect, it is a summoning condition. Either way you cannot summon Obelisk the Tormentor by using the effect of Advance Force.--Hide Head Turtle 10:36, May 7, 2010 (UTC)

Actually advance force will work for the god cards. simply on the idea that it does not target so it will bypass the effect of the gods on there normal summon assuming of course that it is an effect. However even if it is not an effect of the card it will still work because the card advance force will bypass that as well. all in all the card advance force can tribute summon the Egyptian god cards with one tribute so long as that tribute is level 5 or higher. if you are wondering as to why it bypasses the effects and or rules allow me to explain. you see with any level 7 or higher monster you know that it has too be tribute with 2 or more tributes unless a card effect says something else on that matter. however what is not stated on any regular level 7 or higher monster is that it requires 2 tributes vie the official rule that level 7 or higher monsters require 2 tributes unless a card effect says otherwise. the point i am trying to get too you is this how would konami make a rule that restricted the god cards so that they required 3 tributes answer they could not, so what they did was either give the monster the effect or basic rule over the three cards that they needed 3 tributes however if it is not the effect of the card and instead is what i mentioned as a rule over the three cards. Then the tribute cost could be compared between a normal level 5 or 6 and a level 7 to level 12 monster. however if it is an effect of the card the outcome is the same simply because or the contradiction between advance force effect and the god cards effect (You must Tribute 3 monsters to Normal Summon this card (you cannot Set this card) and (you can tribute a level 7 or higher monster with one level 5 or higher monster) although the effect completely contradict each other advance force remains the winner.

simply put the contradiction between the gods and advance fore is this. the gods say they cannot be tribute except with 3 monsters, and advance force says the basic opposite, that you can tribute a level 7 or higher monster with a level 5 or higher monster. however what many have failed to grasp is this, even do the effects completely contradict each other. advance force bypasses it simply because the god cards are written is such a way that they create a whole new group such as level 7 or higher monsters and level 6 to 5 level monster. just as level 6 to 5 require 1 tribute and level 7 or higher monsters require 2 tributes the gods require 3 tributes. knowing that you can easily say that advance fore bypasses that rule that envelopes the god cards just as it envelopes level 7 or higher monsters and level 6 to 5 monsters. and (IIRC) there was also a ruling somewhere that said you can't use Advance Force with The Wicked Dreadroot.

Ahh i see i finally have a little conversation that goes by over a couple of mounths. Anyway i apoligize for any mis spelling or gramer problems in any of my privios work as well as any that will follow. For the couse of this is simply that i am texting on an ipad and it keeps correcting me and controlling my every movement to the point that it is no longer my words. instead the words are coming from this blasted computer that keeps coming up for me(its very anoying). Any way too countinue the conversation that we started earlier. I will start by admitting that you can not summon BLS by using Advance Force simply because it clearly states that BLS can not be normal summoned at all. Knowing that advance force does not special summon, but in fact normal summons monsters. So throu that logic i rest my case on the fact that you cannot summon BLS(Black luster Soldier envoy of the beginning) with Advance force. Now too the one that stated That there is somewhere that a ruling exists regarding both Advance Force and the wicked deadroot. i will simply start by saying that i belive you. However even if there is a ruling there is a simple fact i would simply wish to reviel to you and that is simply that They may be wrong when it comes to the ruling which is erelivent simply because even if they are wrong there words are law when it comes to those matters. And none can change that very easily. now coming back to the matter of the wicked dead root and Advance force. i simply have to say that it will work for the same reason that i gave earlier. however if you dont know what that reasone was or was not able to understand it allow me to explaine in a much simpler concept. however sadly i can not put the entire concept in to words outherwise it would be too long. knowing that i have come up with this question that i hope will explaine it. and here it is (`if konami never made the rule that a lv 5,and 6 monster requierd 1 tribute wial a lv 7 or higher monster required 2 tributes. Then what would be written on the cards to keep that basic rule in progress?`)i belive that it would be something like this for a level 5 and 6 ( this card cannot be normal summoned or set exept by offering one tribute ) and likewise for level 7 and higher monsters. knowing this basic concept of how konami could not simply make a rule specifically for the god cards(or similar cards). they simply made the rule on the text on the card. exept they added that the card cannot be set(like in the anime). now if you are still wondering how advance force can work for the god cards(or similar cards) dont worry im getting to that. the god cards(and similar cards) say that they cant be normal summoned(not special sumoned) except by tributing exactly 3 monsters). wial advance force basically says that any monster that requires 2 or more tributes(gods requier 3 which is more than 2) can be normal summoend with one tribute. so long as that tribute is lv 5 or higher. basically both there texts absolutly contradicts each outher. however obelisk text simply targets it self on what are his requirments. wial advance force targets all monsters that fits its standard. including the god cards(and similar cards). so out of that logic i come to the conclusion that advance force works for the god cards(and similar cards. i am sorry about the errors in my theory however i want you to know that it was unavoidable. also do not send any more emails to my email ([email protected]) simply because i already have more than i could ever want to read. some were rude. others disagreed with me and showed ther reason why as i expected. and i have to say i am impressed. there were also a lot who agreed with me which is very appreciated as well as surprising as to the number of people out of the average 10. if you would like to continue just text bellow. however i only check it once a week due to reasons of my own. so i ask you to be patient as to my response. The first reason is that in the anime all the gods(and similar cards) we're tributed(if tribute summoned) with 3 monsters and no less. I belive that if this were to change that it would contradict meny peoples understanding of the god cards(and similar cards).
