Forum:Ancient City Rainbow Ruins query

I have checked the ruling page of Ancient City - Rainbow Ruins and the Breakdown of the Battle Phase and still haven't figured out the one effect of Ancient City - Rainbow Ruins that says once per turn halve the battle damage you take, does that only apply to one monster at a time, allowing me to choose which one to use it on, or does it cut all Battle Damage I have recieved that turn in half.

ie: my opponent has DAD, Gaia Knight, the Force of Earth, Destiny Hero - Diamond Dude, and Mystic Tomato on the field.

I have 3 CB cards in my Sp/T zone and Crystal Beast Amber Mammoth in my Monster Card Zone, my opponent takes Gaia and attacks my Mammoth, dealing 900 pts of damage, and sending my Mammoth to the Sp/T zone, she then takes DAD, Diamond Dude, and Tomato attacking me directly, for 5600 dmg. I activate my Ruin's effect, allowing me to halve the damage, does that cut the 6500; 900 from Gaia vs Mammoth and then the 5600 from tho direct attack; in half thus dealing 3250 dmg to me, or do I have to choose one of her monsters, which would obviously be DAD thus cutting his attack to 1400, and allowing the 1400 of Diamond Dude and the 1400 of Tomato to go through thus taking a total of 4200 Dmg

You only halve the Battle Damage from one attack. You get to choose which attack gets halved. In your example, you would take a total of 4200 damage. --Deus Ex Machina (Talk) 19:03, September 19, 2009 (UTC)
