Forum:Critique my Machina-Gadget deck please?

From Yugipedia
Jump to: navigation, search

Hi there, I don't come on this site much at all, so please be patient with me if I am ignorant in things I should do. Anyway, I would very much appreciate opinions on my deck It runs okay enough, although I always fall to my friends' Infernity and Blackwing decks OTL

Overall for Main Deck: 56 OTL!!!

Since I never play competitively and I know my friends' decks inside out, I don't have a Side Deck. But hey, if you could also give me pointers on that, it would be appreciated. So, what I'm asking is:
-Opinion on it about how it is right now
-Tips on which cards to switch out/add/take out, hopefully to slim my deck down a bit haha
-I would also like to add Synchros to my deck, but I dunno which cards to switch out for tuners, and how it'll affect Rivalry of Warlords and Solidarity ;;
-Tips on what to put in my Side deck (this is pretty low-priority for me, but I would be thankful anyway)

So, yeah. I'm really sorry if this is breaking any rules or anything. Really, thank you for taking to time to read my woes XD

Here We Go

In the future, please sign your posts with 4 Tildes (~). OK then, here is what needs to go:

All 3 Shredders, the Machina Snipers, the Machina Defenders, the Machina Soldiers, the heavy mech platforms, the Commander Covington, the Blast Sphere, the Scrap Recycler, the Armored Cybern, the Cyber Valleys, the Proto-Cyber Dragons, Kinetic Soldier, the Frontline Base, the lightning Vortexes, the Card Trader, the Rivalry of the Warlords, the Draining Shield, the Metalmorph, the Rare Metalmorph, the Phoenix Wing Blast, the Ceasefire, and the Compulsory evac.

I know that's a lot of Cards, but bear with me. Now Add:

2 Gearframes, 1 machina force, 1 peacekeeper, 3 Smashing Grounds, 2 D-Prisons, 1 Mirror Force, 1 Dark Hole, 1 Solemn Judgement, and 1 Cyber Eltanin.

You are now down to 42 cards, and it is essentially a tournament competitive deck. You don't need synchros, it messes with your solidarities like you mentioned. Before it seemed very slow, and a side deck isn't really necessary for someone who just plays with his friends. CardGamesFTW (talkcontribs) 23:22, September 12, 2010 (UTC)

24.4.40.136 (talk) 04:06, September 13, 2010 (UTC) (Am I doing it right?)About the Shreddders, I dunno about removing them. I have a fair few level 7s and 8s in my deck, which could be painful for my opponent. About the Cyber Eltanin, I have no Light Machines except for the Cyber Dragons, and if I just have it for the destroying-opponent's-monsters effect, I could just as easily use Lightning Vortex without losing my Cybers. I honestly don't know about how good of a card Solemn Judgement is. There's no chance for me to gain any life points unless the opponent does something, and half my life points is a lot if it's at the beginning-middle of the duel.

Well, . . .

Trust me, and any Pro or Semi-Pro on this Wikia, Solemn Judgment is an incredible card. Eltanin is useful when you have an empty field and your oppenent doesn't, plus you don't have to discard like you would have to for Lightning Vortex. Additionally, it serves as tribute fodder for anything you need. Shredder can be left in if you want, but be warned that a lot of cards can stop it and leave you defenseless after using your normal summon snd discarding for it. 24.4.40.136 (talk) 04:18, September 13, 2010 (UTC) Yeah, I forgot to take into account Eltanin's fodder power and the fact you could remove from play things in your graveyard. I'll take your word for it regarding S Judgement. Thank you for the help =)

Some help

Ok, I have helped you format your deck list and added links and stuff.

Take out all:
Shredders (Destruction spells work better than these things)
Snipers
Defenders
Soldiers
Platforms (Use Peacekeepers instead
Convington (Force takes too much to summon and he kinda sucks)
Machina Forces (its not really that great of a card)
Blast Spheres (Slows down deck)
Armored Cyberns
Cyber Valleys (This card makes the deck slower, in Machina, you always want to be on the aggressive)
Proto-Cyber Dragons (In Machinas, Cyber Dragons are usually not a huge play for the fear that your opponent will fuse your cards for their own Fortress
Kinetic Soldiers (...)
Frontline Bases
Card Trader (If you use the Gadgets alot, you will naturally thin out the deck, allowing to draw upon your best cards faster)
Rivalry of Warlords (Most decks are single typed now anyway / want monsters in the graveyard)
Draining Shield (A second D.D. Prison works better as they stop stardusts)
Metalmorph (Use and Abuse Solidarity, that card is more constant than this card)
Rare Metalmorph (Same as above)
Compulsory Evacuation Device (Use Bottomless Trap Holes)
Geartown (You only have 1 target)

Now, MAX out all the Gadgets and Solidarity. Gadgets + Soli is just awesome. Gadgets are floaters, allowing you to always be able to summon another the next turn. Max out the Machina Gearframe, they allow you to search out the key card Machina Fortress faster. Double up the Peacekeepers, they search for Gearframes that search for Fortress. Add in the staples: Mirror Force, Dark Hole or Torrential Tribute and Solemn Judgment. For defensive cards, use some of these cards in 2s: Enemy Controller, Bottomless Trap Hole, Book of Moon, Dimensional Prison. Run 2 Smashing Ground or 2 Nobleman of Crossout to get rid of opposing monsters. And since you will have alot of monsters out at one time, My Body as a Shield or Starlight Road is advisable to prevent your monsters' destruction.

If you have any questions on what I wrote, feel free to message me.

Don't use ancient gear gaditron and get 3 dprisons take out snipers take out Ceasfire add smashings get 3 compulsory add future fusion DON'T USE SOLIDARITIES get 3 gearframes

Use Ancient Gear Gadjiltron Dragon and Solidarity. They ARE very good.--Helix-king (talkcontribs) 07:35, January 5, 2011 (UTC)

DON'T max Gadgets, it clogs your opening hand, and you need that room for Spells and Traps. Only run 2 of each. Do run Solidarity, either at 2 or 3 (I like 3 personally). Don't use Gadjiltron Dragon or Geartown unless you want to make a Machinatown hybrid. Leave in one Machina Force as discard fodder for Fortress. Max out Smashing Ground and D Prison. Advice

All i have is: add 1 or 2 Ultimate Offerings, depending on whether or not you want to swarm the field at the cost of, at max, 2000 LP. It/they will really help. MachinaMan (talkcontribs) 23:07, January 5, 2011 (UTC)

Alright ladies and gentlemen, please put you hands together for Machinatown 2.0!

Alright, it's definitely improved from a while back when I made this post. I have been looking for a * Magical Hats to bring out the Gadjiltrons faster. Opinions on that? I have been looking for some cards you guys have been suggesting, such as Smashing Ground, yet have not found some. My primary concern is the cards I'm on the fence about taking out. I would like to slim the deck down to a good 40-41 cards. If you guys would keep giving opinions on this, I would really appreciate it. Thanks! 24.5.249.73 (talk) 07:04, January 6, 2011 (UTC)

Throw out everything you are considering and add what you are looking for when you get them. Good to go. Lappyzard (talkcontribs) 20:45, January 6, 2011 (UTC)

Alright, so taking out everything I'm considering and adding thirds of cards (such as D-prison) that brings me down to exactly 40, which is great. However, I'm looking out for a Magical Hats, and if I add three Smashing Grounds it would make my deck even fatter. Should I add any Smashings, one, two, etc? 24.5.249.73 (talk) 00:06, January 7, 2011 (UTC)

Seriously, you need to run Ultimate Offering. It is an awesome card and can swarm the field if you have a lot of monsters, or gain field presence otherwise. If you don't like paying LP, try Double Summon, as it is a downgraded version of Ultimate Offering, but you don't need to pay LP. Please try to add either of those cards to your Deck as they will really help and have turned the Duel around for me more than once. MachinaMan (talkcontribs) 02:58, January 7, 2011 (UTC)

True, but they could be dead draws when I'm in a bind. 24.5.249.73 (talk) 03:07, January 7, 2011 (UTC)

Nooooooooooooooooooo, don't run Ultimate Offering or Double Summon. You don't need more than one normal summon per turn ever. Double Summon is a completely unnecessary -1 and Ultimate Offering just weakens you. Do not run them! But drop Scrap-Iron Scarecrow and Shrink for 2 Smashings if you can get them. Lappyzard (talkcontribs) 20:42, January 7, 2011 (UTC)

Cool, thanks for the advice. I think I'll get Magical Hats before the Smashings, so do you think I should run one or two Hats? And if one, then what individual card should I take out for it? Thanks for being patient by the way. 24.5.249.73 (talk) 21:20, January 7, 2011 (UTC)

1 hat. the second is a dead draw as it will only hit GOOD spell and traps.--Helix-king (talkcontribs) 22:22, January 7, 2011 (UTC)

Alright, so assuming I get one Hat and two Smashings, what's the third card I should take out to make room? (In addition to Scrap-Iron and Shrink) 69.238.170.195 (talk) 08:05, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

I'd say Magic Cylinder, but it's up to you. Lappyzard (talkcontribs) 17:38, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

Thank you so much for the help, it's much appreciated. There is just one more things I want to know, more of curiosity than anything. Not my deck right now, as it is, but when my deck is completely finished, how well do you think my deck will stack up in today's meta? For example, my locals run lightsworns a lot, and plant synchro and some blackwing. What do you think? 69.238.170.195 (talk) 06:37, January 9, 2011 (UTC)

You should be ok, but you'll probably be outdone fairly often. Play smart and get lucky and you can win though. Lappyzard (talkcontribs) 22:58, January 9, 2011 (UTC)

my machina is getting weak... why??

hi... i'm a noob who found out that my machinatown deck been losing these few days... my deck lost straight set against BlackWing and Lightsworn... Can anyone tell me why?? pls... this is my deck

My friend sold me this deck... he taught me to use magical hat to set geartown for gadjiltron and set wild tornado to destroy opponent's face up card... use 3 machina force so that i can sp summon fortress plenty of times... But the problem is, yes, i do have my fortress most of the time, but it tend to get destroy easily... and sometimes, get removed from play easily as i attack using fortress because of dimensional prison... at last, i really fed up as every time i attack, my fortress will be either destroy or removed... haiz... can anyone figure out what seems to be the problem???
