hi i was playing dueling network and my oponent used card destruction and then hi special summoned Celri, Monk of Dark World to my field , i was ok with that , but then he said that his second effect activates the one that makes him discard , and i say that he cannot cause celri wasnt discarded by a darkworld card and hi said that since his a dw hi counts himself !!!! its that true!?!? cause if it is it will be redundant to say (When this card is Special Summoned by the effect of a "Dark World" card, your opponent selects 1 card in their hand and discards it.)200.88.28.138 (talk) 20:51, May 20, 2011 (UTC)

Card Destruction can discard hand, but which side was "Card Destruction" activate? Your or his? --FredCat 21:01, May 20, 2011 (UTC)

his side :S 200.88.28.138 (talk) 21:04, May 20, 2011 (UTC)

If he played "Card Destruction", then he only can special summon them, and for second effect, only work by discard through Opponent's effect. Therefore he cannot do them. --FredCat 21:06, May 20, 2011 (UTC)

yea i know maybe i explained wrong, heres what happened , he activates card destrucionand then he speccial summoned celri to my field thats ok cause celri says that whenn he is discarded from the hand by either players card effects he gets ss to your opononets side of de field , the problem here is this : he caled celris effect to discard a card from his hand by the effect of celris whos in my side of the field now , hi discarded silva since celris was special summoned to my field its considered to be in my control so silvas gets her second effect i know that , but my problem was this part from the text of celris.....(If this card is discarded by a card effect from the hand to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon this card to your opponent's side of the field in face-up Defense Position.When this card is Special Summoned by the effect of a "Dark World" card, your opponent selects 1 card in their hand and discards it) i then told him that hi cannot activate that celris effect since card destruction doesnt have darkworld on his name , and that he could activate that effect with DARKWORLD DEALINGS, DARKWORLD lightning etc , then he told me that it doesnt matter the name of the card that make celri to get discarded cause celris its ss by his own effect and that hi has darkworld on his name . . ... that was our problem :S 200.88.28.138 (talk) 21:19, May 20, 2011 (UTC)

Dark World cards benefit from the use of cards like "Card Destruction", "Morphing Jar" and "Dragged Down into the Grave". ~Dark World Article.
When this card is Special Summoned by the effect of a "Dark World" card, your opponent selects 1 card in their hand and discards it. ~Celri, Monk of Dark World's final part of text.
Therefore your opponent is wrong about Celri's effect activate. If he wanted to using Celri's final part of effect, then he should do what you were saying.
To make it clearly;
Here's what happening, he activates "Card Destruction" and then he Special Summoned Celri to my side of the field - which is ok since it's original to be Celri's first effect. The problem here is; He called Celri's effect to discard a card from his hand who is in my side of the field. He discarded "Sillva" in the purpose to process of the Celri's second effect. But my problem was this part from the text of Celri... (When this card is Special Summoned by the effect of a "Dark World" card, your opponent selects 1 card in their hand and discards it.) I told him that he can't activate that effect since "Card Destruction" don't have the word/name "Dark World" in its card name at all and reminded him that he should make it work with the card that do have "Dark World" - "Dark World Lightning" or "Dark World Dealings" - but he denied it since Celri was special summoned by his own effect. That's leading to this problem I am explaining to you now.

ok thanks a lot !! :D 200.88.28.138 (talk) 22:27, May 20, 2011 (UTC)

Don't victor just yet, I am not perfect judge, to be truth. --FredCat 22:35, May 20, 2011 (UTC)
Accent to ATEM's quote: Note that this card hasn't been released yet, so the answer may differ depending to its actual text's translation!
So that mean we have to hold this deal off till it actually (English/America translation) release then we can talk. But for now, don't deal with it so harsh. --FredCat 22:46, May 20, 2011 (UTC)

It was Special Summoned by a "Dark World" card, it was Special Summoned by it's own effect, not Card Destruction. "If this card is discarded by a card effect from the hand to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon this card to your opponent's side of the field in face-up Defense Position." That is a Trigger Effect, it counts itself. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 23:52, May 20, 2011 (UTC)

according to what is currently stated on the page he was right to activate the effect of him. He states "if special summoned by the effect of a dark world card" and he is special summoned with his own effect... he is a dark world card.

He might be discarded by card destruction but that is not the thing what makes that part of the effect trigger. He is discarded by card destruction, but it is special summoned with his own effect. So, as long as there is no correction, I'd go with this. -dest- (talkcontribs) 23:59, May 20, 2011 (UTC)

Based on the card's text and other similarly worded cards, I would say that Celri summoning himself activates the discard effect. From a pure logic standpoint, this is still true, because otherwise Celri wouldn't be very useful. Lappyzard (talkcontribs) 00:10, May 21, 2011 (UTC)

I said this once, and I am saying this again; Note that this card hasn't been released yet, so the answer may differ depending to its actual text's translation! --FredCat 00:18, May 21, 2011 (UTC)
