Forum:Empty Jar Deck

I've been hearing alot on this type of deck lately and I was just wondering how good would this type of deck work like against lightsworn and other top decks right now? It seems a little situational seeing as it is based on morphing jar but I was just wondering how plausible this type of deck would be to use and WIN regionals or some high end tourney (if they were still going)? Just wondering your thoughts on the matter. Thanks. Picasso 81189 02:09, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

I don't think just a morphing jar would destroy a Lightsworn deck.

If you ran a full Dark World deck, maybe, or if it was D.D. (like mine) Lightsworns get removed and morphing jar works great with Necroface.Iam8bit 02:21, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

I don't know about any Tournaments, but Defensive Mill Decks in general can be a real pain to overcome, especially since a lot of the meta involves attacking. A good side-deck could cause some problems, but assuming you don't use trap cards and substitute a few Royal Decree's along with Quick-Play Magics like Book of Eclipse, Book of Moon, and Book of Taiyou, and possibly a Dark Bribe or two, I think it could be a real threat. Any opponent's card that involves you attacking would be rendered completely useless, and cards like Swords of Revealing Light could really mess them up.

Don't use just Morphing Jar, however. It would be prudent to add some Needle Worms, and perhaps a Marshmallon for stall. Destiny Hero - Defender is a good choice as well, but can really hurt you earlier on with opponent's hand advantage. It's definitely something to check out, however. I run a Mill Deck, and have accidentally decked myself out by abusing Morphing Jar too much. 174.106.14.176 04:15, February 27, 2010 (UTC)

"I played an empty jar deck at Regionals and it completely destroyed my deck. He ran morphing jar one and two and some needle worms. He also ran swords and most of the book cards. We dident touch each others lifepoints other then he gave me 1000 and I lost both rounds, one with 9000 lifepoints. I think its an effective deck. He placed like top five." - The Unborn

Here's general deck recipe;

morphing jar 2 works well too

They're potent, but once the lock breaks they're wide open to attack. This could provide some help in building the deck. Oh, and don't forget Morphing Jar 2 as well, it screws around by punishing the opponent for swarming, while eating through their S/Ts, nomis and high-level monsters. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 09:24, August 16, 2010 (UTC)

you've basically got to play it right. i run an empty jar deck at the moment for fun and you really need are obviously the three books three of each and morphing jar and cards to call them. nightassailant is useful. any drawing cards at all cup of ace is always handy either way. but most importantly you need cards that reset your hand. just abuse cards like magical mallet and reload until you get morphjing jar and book of taiyou. with a deck like the one i have now you have to be really unlucky not to get book of taiyou and a card that calls morphing jar such as giant rat or sangan. then you've got to have things so you can reuse book of taiyou, like magical stone excavation and spell reproduction. its an easy winj deck but it relys basically on two cards but once you have them, nothing except serious bad luck can really stop you
