If I play Fusion Reserve and reveal UFOroid Fighter, can I add any warrior type monster from my deck to my hand? TacitGrunt (talkcontribs) 08:17, December 1, 2014 (UTC)

No. It needs a specific name.-- (talkcontribs) 10:33, December 1, 2014 (UTC)

But that ruling is derived from Elemental HERO Prisma who is a Fusion Substitue Monster. Why is the ruling the same on this trap card?CardCruncher (talkcontribs) 22:03, December 5, 2014 (UTC)CardCruncher

1. Elemental HERO Prisma is not a Fusion Substitue Monster.
2. It is the same for any cards that check the Fusion Monster's material names.-- (talkcontribs) 22:23, December 5, 2014 (UTC)

1. Excuse me... Prisma isn't a Fusion Substitute* Monster, he's a "Treated as Alternate Name" Monster. 2. "Reveal 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, add 1 of the Fusion Materials listed on that card from your Deck to your hand, then you can add 1 "Polymerization" from your Graveyard to your hand.".. I didn't see the word "name" in that card text, so what gives? Why are Fusion Reserves rulings being derived from a monster card when it's a trap? Doesn't make a whole lot of senseCardCruncher (talkcontribs) 00:19, December 6, 2014 (UTC)CardCruncher

Technically, he isn't a Fusion Substitute. A Fusion Substitute says on the card "You can substitute this card for any 1 Fusion Material Monster." This means that such a card would not be able to substitute for something like Cyber End Dragon, which requires 3 Cyber Dragon. Prisma, on the other hand, simply allows one to trest its name as the name of another monster, and in that case, again, using Cyber End Dragon as an example, Prisma WOULD be able to be a Material (assuming of course that it copied a Cyber Dragon.) Bugger, disregard that. This is what I get for not posting. It said that it's "Listed," thus it needs a specific name. Ah, so that IS how to use the strikethrough on this.
