Forum:Gravekeeper's support?

Hi again guys! While constructing my Yubel deck, my brother asked me for some help on good support cards for the gravekeeper's deck. I was wondering what will be good. I thought of using traps that was based on destruction to weaken the opponent's field but i found out that it was not a good one. Can anyone help me out? I know it is a very old deck because i had problems to collect the core cards for this deck. Thanks.

I know of one: Necrovalley. Zeek Aran 15:38, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

mystic tomato most GK's are seachable

I run a gravekeper deck and it has done extremely well. As fa as support cards for it, I find that spellcaster supports, in general, work great with it since all gravekeeper's are also spellcasters. Card's like ready for intercepting, and magical dimension are awesome. Many of the more powerful gravekeeper's are also flip effect (spy and guard), so book of moon and eclipse are great.

There are some gravekeeper specific cards that are also good such as gravekeeper stele, rite of spirit, royal tribute, and necrovalley is a must! I personally run solidarity as well for massive atk boost plus gravekeeper spamming is really effective.

One last note to consider is that gravekeepers are also all dark type so cards like allure of darkness and dark illusion work well. Dark Armed Dragon can also be powerful, especially when paired with gravekeeper's decedent because you tribute a gravekeeper, destroy and opponents card, and then remove that gravekeeper from play to remove another card. its a deadly combo.

My deck is kind of on the big side ,nearly maxing ut and I know that many people say you shouldn't have more that 40 cards, but in a gravekeeper deck there is no one card you need, except necrovalley which can be pulled very quickly with the right deck, so more cards simply means more ammo to hit my opponent with.

Gravekeeper specific support is pretty limited. For a good keeper deck your going to want Gavekeeper's: Assailant, Recruiter, Descendant, and Spy, three copies each. Also your going to want three each of Necrovalley, Royal Tribute, and Rite of Spirit. Add in some staple like Allure of Darkness, Mirror Force, Dark Hole, and a pair of Mystical Space Typhoons, and you ave most of the cards you'll need for the deck. Oh, and three Gravekeeper's Steles. Perhaps a Malefic Stardust Dragon or two as well. Also, you really should limit a Gravekeeper's deck to forty cards. The way that they win is by wiping the field with Descendant or Assailant, and having too many cards that get in the way of getting them onto the field will only make it harder to win. Stuff I'd recommend:

  • Breaker the Magical Warrior fits in with the common theme of a DARK Spellcaster. While not as searchable as the other GKs, he is still a solid beatstick when Necrovalley is absent, and can still destroy S/Ts in your way.
  • Magician's Circle is capable of bringing out any of the GK monsters. The biggest is Visionary, which rests just on the upper bound of Circle's criteria.
  • Magical Dimension works very well with GKs since they're all Spellcasters. Best used to bring out a heavy hitter like Visionary, but it's also good for moving used Guards out of the way or getting an extra attack after you're done attacking with one GK.
  • Dark Armed Dragon is actually not recommended in the Main Deck since Necrovalley blocks off its effect and you won't be able to remove cards from your Graveyard from play. Perhaps toss it in your Side Deck if the opponent proves to be too good at getting rid of your field.

Need to get them all? the Marik Structure should have most of the cards you need. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 14:32, December 14, 2010 (UTC)
