If i have a Lumina in attack mode with a honest in hand and my opponent has a Zanji on field with honest in hand, if i attack and my opponent chains honest and i chain honest afterwards, whose monster stay live? To my knowledge, the person who activated honest first would stay on the field, considering that chains resolve in reverse order. Help...

You are correct! Whoever activates Honest first will survive the battle. War Pigg 09:40, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

--If you look at it in a Chain Link,it goes like this.

  • Chain Link 1:Lumina attacks Zanji(if i am wrong about the chain link, please inform me)
  • Chain Link 2:Opponent chains Honest
  • Chain Link 3:You chained Honest.

--then it will go backwards.

  • Chain Link 3:You chain Honest, which will increase Lumina's ATK by 1800(because of Zanji's ATK points)
  • Chain Link 2:your opponent chains Honest, which will increase Zanji's atk by 2800(you get the point)

--Then Zanji wins because he had a total ATK points of 4600,while Lumina had only 2800.

  • The declaration of an attack is an action. It does not start a chain! ATEMVEGETA (Talk) 12:39, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
Also note that you do not activate "Honest" in response to the attack. The way you word it, it sounds like you activate "Honest" at the same time as "Mirror Force", which is not true.
The Turn Player always has Priority to activate the effect of "Honest" first, but the the last "Honest" to resolve is the one that wins. I suggest you read Breakdown of the Battle Phase, since from here on it gets technical.
If you activate "Honest" in Sub-Steps 1, 2, or 3, then your opponent can wait for your "Honest" to resolve and then activate his. In this case, your opponent's "Honest" will be the last one to resolve, so he will win the battle.
If you activate "Honest" in Sub-Step 4 (aka Damage Calculation), then your opponent CANNOT wait for your "Honest" to resolve to activate his. If he wants to activate "Honest", then he must chain it your yours. In this case, your "Honest" will be the last one to resolve (since Chains resolve backwards), so your monster will win the battle.
If the Turn Player is smart, then he will always win in an "Honest" vs "Honest" situation.
Communication is the key. If your opponent wishes to activate "Honest" during Damage Calculation, then your opponent should ask if you want to do anything before and during Damage Calculation before activating his "Honest". Likewise, if you want to activate "Honest", then you should state in which Sub-Step you are activating it.

i mean during damage calculation and you cannot attack and wait.. therefore the first one to activate honest's effect always win..

You're wrong about the "only" part. The effect of "Honest" can be activated during the Damage Step before Damage Calculation. See Card Rulings:Honest. --Deus Ex Machina (Talk) 08:07, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
