So I started playing the game when it first came out. After a while I kind of drifted away from it. Recently however I have come back to the game and even gotten some newer cards. The problem that I'm now faced with is that my deck feels too large and plays too slowly. I'm just trying to slim down my deck and increase the odds of drawing a critical card at the time that I need it, so please don't tell me to add anything. I'm a casual player who plays Traditional Format and never has and probably never will play in a serious tournament so I don't have to worry about the banned lists.
- If all you want to do is make the deck smaller, then i recommend making it like this:
This way it should run a lot smoother and faster. The only problem I see with this deck is that it has way too much defense and barely any offense. Try to add some stronger level 4 monsters. Good Luck --Skiesthelimit (talk • contribs) 17:08, November 20, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the advice. I'll give it a shot. One question though; It feels like your taking out a lot of the ways to counter/mess with a strategy and increase my own lifepoints. In short, it seems like your cutting out almost all of my defense. Is there anything that you would add back into the mix?
- You should stay away from cards that increase your life points. It really doesn't help unless your running a deck that relies on life points (fairies, Toon Monsters etc). Just think of it this way: would you rather draw 3 copies of Goblin's Secret Remedy or 3 copies of Fissure on the first draw? The reason I took out some of the counter cards (Magic Jammer, Divine Wrath) is because discarding a card is a pretty heavy cost. Its better to pay life points than discarding valuable cards that you might end up needing later. As for the defense, if you think you need them, then go ahead and add them back. --Skiesthelimit (talk • contribs) 20:21, November 20, 2010 (UTC)
