Forum:Question about quick effects

Basically, during the damage step, only cards' effects that modify the ATK/DEF can be used. And yet, some quick effects like Stardust's or Herald of Orange Light's can be used during the damage step. That brings me to this question : can all quick effects be activated during the damage step?

If no, when exactly can quick effects be used in damage step?

During the damage step can be activated quick effects who:
1) modify ATK/DEF (Injection Fairy Lily, Suijin, ect.)
2) negate stuff (Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV8, Stardust Dragon, Heralds, ect.)
3) affect the Battle Damage (Kuriboh, ect.)

Those are not quick effects those are trigger effects and continuous effects. Horus the Black Flame Dragon has a continuous effect meaning it is constantly active and therefore does not activate in the damage step. Trigger effects such as Injection Fairy Lily are allowed to activate in the damage step because if you read the card Suijin and Injection Fairy Lily both say they effect the attack and/or defense of a designated monster. And lastly cards like Kuriboh, Kuriboh happens before damage calculation not before damage step so after damage step but before life point calculations Kuriboh activates.

Those effects are all Quick Effects who can be activated during the Damage Step. You can look here to see when, during Damage Step, each effect can be activated. ATEMVEGETA (Talk) 11:07, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
Correction to #2, it's only Quick Effects which negate activations. That is why you cannot use the effect of "Ryu Senshi" during the Damage Step. --Deus Ex Machina (Talk) 18:26, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
