1: If 「Skill Drain」 is active on the field, can 「DD Warrior Lady」's effect be activated if she is destroyed in battle?

2: Say I play 「Future Fusion」. Then my opponent plays 「Magic Canceller」. If the 「Magic Canceller」 is removed from the field before the standby phase the fusion monster is summoned, will 「Future Fusion」 still summon the monster? If the 「Future Fusion」 remains negated past the turn it's supposed to summon the fusion monster, will 「Future Fusion」 do anything once it stops being negated? And how about when 「Future Fusion」 is negated after its chosen fusion monster is already out, and then stops being negated, will 「Future Fusion」 reapply itself to the chosen fusion monster?

3: When attacking a face down 「Jinzo」, is its effect is activated for the few substeps it gets flipped face up? IE: I have a 「Metal Reflect Slime」 already activated on the field and I attack a face down 「Jinzo」 with enough attack to kill it. Will 「Jinzo」's effect activate in that short window and negate my 「Metal Reflect Slime」 and place it back in the magic/trap zone doing nothing? Also, during the sub-part of the battle step when 「Jinzo」 is face up; are the trap cards that would be normally legal to activate, such as attack/defense modifiers, not be allowed to activate due to 「Jinzo」 being face up at that instance?

4: On the ruling of 「Time Wizard」, it says that 「Material Dragon」 cannot negate the effect activation of 「Time Wizard」, yet it says that 「Stardust Dragon」 can. Aren't both dragon's negation effects exactly the same? (Other than Stardust's effect which works with Magic and Trap cards and the cost, of course.)

5: Say I have two monsters and my opponent has two attack position monsters. My opponent declares an attack. I activate 「Enemy Controller」 to sacrifice the monster my opponent chose to attack, and take control of the monster he is currently not attacking with. Will a replay occur? Or will the monster I took control of and his currently attacking monster battle? Since technically the number of monsters on the receiving side of the field did not change.

6: I was thinking about how effects like, 「Masked Dragon」 and 「Stardust Dragon」 work while 「Skill Drain」 is active, because they activate in the cemetery, and how cards like 「Future Fusion」, 「Premature Burial」 and 「Call of the Haunted」 do not work in the cemetery if 「Magic Canceller」 or 「Jinzo」 is on the field. Considering if 「Call of the Haunted」 is already attached to a monster, then 「Jinzo」 appears to negate the 「Call of the Haunted」, then leaves, the 「Call of the Haunted」 would then reapply itself to the monster it originally chose. So even when 「Call of the Haunted」 is negated, its still technically connected to the monster, right? Unless there is something different about magic and trap cards compared to monster effects, it seems like a the same situation.

A preemptive thanks for taking the time to help me out! ^ ^

1. Skill Drain will negate the effect of D.D. Warrior Lady
2. If Future Fusion is negated, then its effect disappears an stay on the field, never summoning a monster.
3. If Jinzo is face-up, all traps are negated, regardless of their effects, unless Skill Drain is on the field first. Jinzo will negate Metal Reflect Slime. Once Jinzo is removed from the field, Metal Reflect Slime will return to the field.
4. The ruling regarding Prime Material Dragon and Stardust Dragon is contradictory. I'll consult someone else.
5. A replay does occur. That is because your field has changed, even though the number of monsters did not.
6. Skill Drain will not negate Stardust Dragon or Masked Dragon. If Jinzo is on the field, and then removed, Call of the Haunted will begin to target the monster again.

2: So let me get this straight. At any time 「Future Fusion」 is negated, it wont reapply itself once the negation is gone? Even after the monster is summoned, and something negates 「Future Fusion」, it wont reapply itself to the monster?

3: Oh, so 「Metal Reflect Slime」 returns to being a monster after 「Jinzo」 leaves? I didn't know that. So I assume all traps will reapply themselves when the card negating them leaves? Part of my question also was, if 「Jinzo」 is flipped during the battle step by a monster with a higher attack, will 「Jinzo」's effect activate for the few moments it's face up during that particular battle step?

6: No no. I know 「Skill Drain」 wont negate stuff like 「Masked Dragon」 and 「Stardust Dragon」. My question was, comparing how certain monsters affected by 「Skill Drain」 will activate stuff in the cemetery, yet magic and trap cards attached to monsters wont activate during a 「Magic Canceller」 or 「Jinzo」 respectively. Is it because the effects for 「Premature Burial」 and 「Call of the Haunted」 happen when they leave the field, and not when they hit the cemetery?

7: Sorry, new question. Can a 「Stardust Dragon」 negate a 「Stardust Dragon」 trying to negate and destroy a card on the field?

2) If Future Fusion's effect gets negated before the monster gets summoned, the monster will not be summoned during the second Standby Phase. If the monster is already summoned, it is continuously targeted by Future Fusion. If Spell Canceller is then summoned it will negate Future Fusion's effect. If Future Fusion is destroyed, it will not destroy the monster. If Spell Canceller is destroyed, Future Fusion starts to target again the monster.
3) Metal Reflect Slime will not become a monster again. It will stay face-up in the S/T card zone meaninglessly, if Jinzo is destroyed.
4) The TCG rulings are different from OCG about Time Wizard. The OCG states that Time Wizard will destroy something regardless of the coin's result. The TCG reads Time Wizard as a monster that may or may not destroy a card (monster) right away, so Stardust Dragon, Prime Material Dragon, My Body as a Shield, ect cannot be chained to negate it.
6) Skill Drain negate a monster's effect if the monster remains face-up on the field when the effect resolves. Stardust Dragon and Exiled Force are in the Graveyard when their effects resolve so they won't be negated. Call of the Haunted applies its effect the time it is destroyed (on the field), so it will be negated by Jinzo, and the monster survives. The same for Spell Canceller vs Premature Burial.
7) Yes!

3: The other part of my question; Okay. Say I have a face down 「Reinforcements」, and a 「Summoned Skull」 in attack mode. My opponent has a face down 「Jinzo」. I attack it. Even though skull's attack points are higher than jinzy's defense points, meaning I will kill it, for the breif instance 「Jinzo」 is flipped up during the attack, will his effect be active?

8: And new question. Sorry. ^ ^; When I declare an attack, who has priority to activate a card? Example 1: If turn player has priority and after declaring an attack, activates something like 「Enemy Controller」, can my opponent chain to my 「Enemy Controller」 with something like 「Mirror Force」 or 「Magic Cylinders」? Example 2: If the opponent has priority when I declare an attack, and he passes his priority; I then activate something like 「Enemy Controller」, at that time, since it is still the declaring attack step, can my opponent chain with something like, 「Mirror Force」 or 「Magic Cylinders」?

Sorry for more questions. This game just brings up more and more. + x + <3 this game nonetheless. XD

3) See Breakdown of the Battle Phase! Jinzo's effect will start applying at sub-step 2, and it last until the start of sub-step 5.
8) After an action (declaration of an attack, a monster's summon, ect), always the turn player have priority to activate an effect first.

8: So... I can declare an attack, and then activate something, like 「Enemy Controller」 due to my priority, then my opponent can chain 「Mirror Force」 to the magic card I played? It sounds kinda strange. And if that's the case, when my opponent plays 「Mirror Force」, he can chain 「Magic Cylinder」 to it? They both require declaration of an attack. :x

  • You declare an attack, and activate Enemy Controller in respond to the attack. Not priority is passed to the opponent to chain an effect. He can chain Mirror Force, since the last thing that happend is still the declaration of the attack. Magic Cylinder can also be chained to Mirror Force, in order to destroy the monster, and inflict damage. ATEMVEGETA (Talk) 22:13, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
2) If "Spell Canceller" is Summoned after "Future Fusion" was activated, but "Spell Canceller" is removed before the second Standby Phase, then the effect of "Future Fusion" will still be applied, and it will still Special Summon a monster. "Spell Canceller" must be face-up on the field when "Future Fusion" is attempting to Summon a monster in order to negate the effect.
If "Future Fusion" doesn't Special Summon a monster during the second Standby Phase, then "Future Fusion" will remain on the field meaninglessly. It will never again try to Special Summon a monster.
Also, just a minor correct: once the monster is Summoned, it is continuously targeted, even if "Future Fusion" is negated.
4) "Prime Material Dragon" should be able to negate "Time Wizard".
If you are playing in the TCG, then both "Stardust Dragon" and "Prime Material Dragon" cannot negate "Time Wizard".
If you are playing in the OCG, then both can negate "Time Wizard".
5) Just to clarify, a Replay occurs when the attack targets change. Say you control Monster A and Monster B, and your opponent controls Monster C and Monster D. Before "Enemy Controller", the attack targets are Monster A and Monster B. After "Enemy Controller", the targets are Monster A and Monster C. This is a change, so a Replay occurs.
6) Note that the effect of "Stardust Dragon" activates and resolves on the field. Other than that, what they said.
