Forum:The Ultimate Question

Hey, I was just wondering why his hasn't been asked yet on the forums, so I will ask the ultimate Yu-Gi-Oh! Question, which do you prefer, going first or second? I also ask this because lately, I seem to be choosing to go second a lot more often than I used to; I find going second more fun, I can destroy, swarm, and attack. I prefer first. That way I can act almost without fear of what might be coming from my opponent, and set up traps for them. Runer5h (talkcontribs) 20:05, September 29, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

Going first with GBs is always better. -bewk 20:23, September 29, 2010 (UTC)

Really, it depends on my opening hand. Sometimes I will prefer to go first, but quite often I like going second. Given the choice I'll usually pick first because I know almost everyone likes going first, so that'll mess them up, but with my deck going second works very well. It makes it simpler, not having to worry about going first or second. But to pick one I prefer, I like going second, and it actually works better for me. Agree with Runer. Generally, going first means you get to set up combos better without interference from your opponent (Solemn Judgment), and you can prepare for what's coming a lot better. Also, going first is better especially if you don't know how the deck you're using works.75.34.42.13 (talk) 20:59, September 29, 2010 (UTC)

First but if it's a beginner, I let them go first. And the ultimate question? I seen better, no offense. Fallensilence (talkcontribs) 23:00, September 29, 2010 (UTC)

I can go either way. I like going first because I don't have to worry about interruptions and can set up my next turn. Going second is also nice because you get to attack your opponent. Sometimes, things happen. Going first can really suck if you have nothing epic for your hand. (I'm sure we've had one time where we've drew into 5 spell and trap cards as a hand). Going second also sucks if you know your opening hand can't help turn the duel into your favor. Beside that, I really don't care if I go first or second. --184.96.251.113 (talk) 23:18, September 29, 2010 (UTC)

It depends. If you have lots of traps or flip effects, you'll generally want to go first. If you use agressive Decks, I.E. Dark Worlds, you'll want to go second, since you never know if your opponent is going to wipe out your field with Vortexes. --Drew-Gi-Oh! (talk) 00:01, September 30, 2010 (UTC)

I'll go first if I drew a "Cold Wave" in my X - Saber deck! By using that card, it'll be over by my next turn (if the opponent summoned/set a pathetic monster!) --SilentHero26 (talkcontribs) 04:31, September 30, 2010 (UTC)

I just find it easier to go second, and since most go first, it works, and plus I can see how they're going to duel, and what deck they're using (sometimes). And plus I play agressive, and with my S/T I can usually stop something they have out...BassNettoHikari2...Chat Page... 07:22, September 30, 2010 (UTC)

Forty-two First, usually. Some of my friends have some very deadly setups they can pull off on the very first turn. If this happens successfully, it results in insurmountable pressure for the following turns. Setting up before they go is usually a good way to nip the problem in the bud. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 11:08, September 30, 2010 (UTC)

I like going second, because i will be the first to attack that way. Cyber dragon anyone? Jens (talkcontribs) 12:17, October 2, 2010 (UTC)

Yep I use it to Synchro Summon Stardust Dragon. Fallensilence (talkcontribs) 15:19, October 2, 2010 (UTC)
