If a Trap Monster is targeted by Relinquished is it considered both a spell and a trap?
If Royal Decree is activated, does Relinquished still gain attack?Thechosenone124 (talk • contribs) 04:41, December 14, 2015 (UTC)
- If “Embodiment of Apophis” is a monster and is equipped to “Relinquished”, “Embodiment of Apophis” is treated as any other monster equipped to “Relinquished”, and “Relinquished” gets 1600 ATK and 1800 DEF.
- Trap Monster: When "Skull Zoma" is equipped to "Relinquished" by its effect, it is only treated as an Equip Spell Card, not a Trap Card or Monster Card.
- Aren't Ruling pages awesome? While I do enjoy answering your questions, a lot of them can be found on the ruling pages so you should check those before asking. BTW both of those were on Relinquished's ruling page.
- So its a Spell, Not Trap (much like how absorbed monsters are not counted as monsters) and consequently Royal Decree cannot negate them, so that's irrelevant

- On the more general topic of negating Equip Cards that are originally monsters equipped by other card effects (e.g. Monster Cards equipped to "Relinquished"), in almost all cases they have no effects, so negating them with "The Emperor's Holiday" or "Imperial Order" won't do anything. In this particular example, it's the effect of "Relinquished" that is giving it the ATK, not the Equip Card. There are currently only 3 exceptions, which are listed on Grants effect to Equip Spell Card.
- Also, it's very different for monsters that treat themselves as Equip Cards, like Union monsters. In that case, it's the effect of the Equip Card. --SnorlaxMonster 05:32, December 14, 2015 (UTC)
