The entire deck can be found here: User:LordGeovanni/Sandbox_Skull. Please post below. I am actively working on this so any obvious cards (One for One) that I have missed, just leave a message and I will consider them. Thanks! --LordGeovanni- (Talk To Me) *Kupo* 21:38, January 9, 2011 (UTC)

How do I link to a Forum page? --LordGeovanni- (Talk To Me) *Kupo* 21:40, January 9, 2011 (UTC)

Fixes

I really don't see what Amulet of Ambition is going to do for your Skull Servants. They are level 1 and even against level 4's they'd still be too weak, knowing today's meta. Also, your skull servants are only in the deck to be sent to the grave, so there is no need for equips for them. Maybe try Level Limit - Area B with Big Bang Shot so they can't attack you, and you can still do piercing damage when you get your King of the Skull Servants out.

Some other alternative cards to use instead of Level Limit - Area B would be Gravity Bind, Flint, or maybe even The Dark Door.

Opti-Camouflage Armor is great for when you get your King out, but you don't have much to protect him for when he goes on the killing blow. Try adding Call of the Haunted to get him back if you fail the first time, or some cards like Guard Mines and Solemn Judgment.

Those are all the problems I can see, and most of these cards I listed here to help with your deck you can easily buy / trade for. Happy Deck-building! ;)

What do you think of the following cards?

--LordGeovanni- (Talk To Me) *Kupo* 22:03, January 9, 2011 (UTC)

Those all seem to fit in great to this deck.

You only have 2 Skull Servant and 1 Wightmare. The easy downside to this deck is the King HAS to be revived when he is destroyed by battle, so if things don't go your way, for example you have to bring him out when he's still only on a couple of thousand or if your opponent drops Honest, then you get back a weaker King who is easy prey to other monsters. By adding more Wightmare, a Burial from the Different Dimension, or even a Doomsday Horror you can undo this drawback and turn it into a deadly comeback.

The next thing to deal with in a Skull Servant deck is getting King onto the field when he's already in the graveyard. Cards like Zombie Master can bring him back, as well as ditch more Skull Servants for him. Mezuki is useful to special summon a Zombie monster back and Book of Life should definitely be run, allowing the revival of any Zombie and denying your opponent one of theirs.

An almost staple card for a deck with dark monsters is Allure of Darkness, draw power which, when combined with Wightmare, turns into a plus for you. Also allowing draw power, and sending Skull Servants to the graveyard, is Veil of Darkness. This will accelerate your deck and can power up the King quite quickly depending on how your deck is.

Some of the support you have focuses on low levels and normal monsters, or both. This kind of deck will probably only run 3 normal monsters - the Skull Servants. It's highly unlikely you will want to summon them, as they are one of the poorest monsters in the game. Instead they are better used as costs for other cards. Symbols of Duty and possibly Order to Charge will work here, but trying to summon them to the field is useless as you will most likely suffer much lifepoint damage. cards such as phalanx pike will work wonders though, as the Skull Servant will gain 900 from every Wightmare and Lady in Wight too! I would suggest taking some of the support for them out, and instead finding ways to put the Skull Servants in the graveyard faster.

There are some very useful monsters for sending darks to the graveyard, Dark Grepher and Armageddon Knight. By using their effects you can remove a dead draw Skull Servant from the deck, and power up your King. By running multiple copies and using Phalanx Pike you can instantly bring these monsters to terrifying attack strengths as well.

Milling cards is the easiest way to put Skull Servants in the graveyard (though a little risky), so cards like the Lightsworns could be used. Needlebug Nest could provide a much needed attack boost. Magical Merchant is another monster that could mill a lot, although this card is also risky as if you do not mill any monsters it won't give you as much of an advantage. The free S/T is good though

After milling you may need cards that work in the graveyard, so Necro Gardna is a nice card to use. Plaguespreader Zombie will also work this way, allowing for Synchro potential. A Skull Servant deck is one of the only decks that can easily bring out Archfiend Zombie Skull, and having him, King and a Lady in Wight on the field will give your opponent a lot of hassle. With Synchro Summoning being a good possibility, this also allows for a nice alternative to King of the Skull Servants, who may suffer from a painful Karma Cut or Dimensional Prison.

As i mentioned, cards with discard costs are great here, so Raigeki Break, Karma Cut, Phoenix Wing Wind Blast and more will provide more advantage. A decent smattering of staples and this deck can be quite fearsome!

I realised i have written a lot here, but the Skull Servants are one of my favourite decks :) Hope you go on to finish it!

Okay, this is an update for the page and my deck. Please see the page for the changes. I also added a list of other cards in the other zombie deck I have that could benefit this deck. In addition to that, I have listed a question about using Skull Conductor as well as the vampires and Patrician. I would like your opinion on them.

Sorrowless Joe, that was what I was hopeing someone would do. I like your Block Text of Doom (TM). I have changed the deck slightly and woould like you to look again. Of course your opinion is requested. Thank you for your time. --LordGeovanni- (Talk To Me) *Kupo* 08:01, January 10, 2011 (UTC)

New request for aid.

I have worked on the page and my deck some more. I have added "deck Proxies" (which I do not like to fit in the cards I intend to obtain soon. I have also added some more cards to a list on the page which I request others to look at and tell me which would be most beneficial.

Please tell me, just below, the answers to these questions:
1 - Should I take out the Skull Conductor idea?
2 - What other monsters should I put into this deck? I think I am really low on monsters to summon.
3 - What cards should I remove from this deck? I have 50 in the deck currently and I would like it below 46 with a preference for 43 or less.
4 - What about the cards in the deck? Do you like or dislike any?
5 - The cards on the alternate list, are there any you like or dislike?
6 - What do you think about using Equip Shot with Big Bang Shot or Ribbon of Rebirth?

Please lable your answers with the question number. --LordGeovanni- (Talk To Me) *Kupo* 09:29, January 15, 2011 (UTC)

Skull Conductor is a fairly situational -1 card. Also for consistency purposes, I don't really like the rogue Vampire Lord and Vampire's Curse. I'd probably use more Zombie Masters, Mezuki and/or Plaguespreader Zombie over them, though they were also mentioned above. Chain Destruction > Next to be Lost. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 12:14, January 15, 2011 (UTC)

Indeed, Skull Conductor cannot help with the King, and your main goal is to summon King as often as possible, so take him out for Des Lacooda so it can help you get what you need. Both "Level Limit - Area B" and "Gravity Bind" are very good with King, so those level 4 won't able to hit you if you have them on the field. I run a deck similar to that, just look in my Deck list (Real Life, to be specify).
In my list; I think that you should take out at least -
1. Skull Conductor x2
2. Both Vampire Monsters, as they do nothing with the King
3. Heart of Clear Water (unless if you using Skull Servant as target, then that can stay)
To replace them -
1. Goblin Zombie x2 (Must for your King, easily to access)
2. Both Limit - Area B and Gravity Bind
3. If you consider to take out "Heart of Clear Water", I would suggest to put in Raigeki Break, as it help you increase King's power by discard the Servant/Lady and sometimes Wightmare.
Hope I help --FredCat Ta.P.F.P.J.R.W.S.Th.P.S.C. 12:35, January 15, 2011 (UTC)

Another Edit, Jan 17th

Another edit on my deck. I ask anyone who has the time to take a look. I added a few staples that could be beneficial and removed some cards that were commented on and didn't flow well. Comments and opinions are always welcome. --LordGeovanni- (Talk To Me) *Kupo* 05:00, January 18, 2011 (UTC)

I've been playing Skull Servants for quite some time, and I couldn't help but notice you're missing some important cards for the build to function well.

  • Card Trooper-The mills add to the speed of the deck, and the bonus off the draw is fantastic.
  • Plaguespreader Zombie - Being Low Level, Skull Servant decks can hit level 5 and Six Remarkably well. And if you drop Archfiend Zombie-Skull, your monsters will be protected from cards such as Dark Hole, Mirror Force, and the like.
  • Shutendoji at 2 makes the deck run fantastic. Not only does it supply a draw engine that lets you have quick Wightmare access, it allows you to recycle Plaguespreader and Mezuki.
  • speaking of Mezuki, he's a must for every Zombie deck. You can grab him with Goblin Zombie, and he's a reliable 1700 beater.
  • Changes (Monster)
    • -3 Pyramid Turtle
    • +1 Card Trooper
    • +2 Shutendoji
    • -1 Wightmare
    • +Plaguespreader
    • +Mezuki

(21 Monsters)

  • ((On a side note, Morphing Jar is a monster you should consider as well, though he is by no means necessary))

Drop the Normal Monster Support. Skull Servants exist to be dumped into the grave ASAP, you shouldn't waste deck space on cards to support their presence. In addition, cards like Phalanx Pike and Pride of the Weak should not be used, due to the bevy of better support options out there. Tutan Mask is a side deck card, at best. The same goes for Starlight Road. Found below is the build that's currently serving me very well.

Monsters (21)

  • 3x Skull Servant
  • 3x King
  • 3x Lady
  • 2x Wightmare
  • 2x Zombie Master
  • 2x Goblin Zombie
  • 2x Shutendoji
  • 1x Mezuki
  • 1x Plaguespreader
  • 1x Card Trooper
  • 1x Morphing Jar

Spells (15)

  • 1x Allure
  • 3x Book of Life
  • 1x Foolish Burial
  • 1x One for One
  • 2x MST
  • 1x Monster Reborn
  • 1x card Destruction
  • 2x Creature Swap
  • 1x Cold Wave
  • 2x Gold Sarc

Traps (4)

  • 1x Mirror Force
  • 3x Royal decree

Extra (X)

  • 2x Archfiend Zombie-Skull
  • 2x Revived King Ha Des
  • 1x Catastor
  • 10x Whatever else you want

That's all I have to say. Good luck, fellow lover of Wights!75.71.56.135 (talk) 05:14, January 18, 2011 (UTC)

Okay, this is mainly for 75.71.56.135, however anyone can listen if they would like. First of all, alot of the cards you have listed are really expensive to me. I have sworn off online buying/auction because I kept getting scamed. Please just respect me on that. For this discussion, I am only able to get cards from people close by to me. Here are some of the prices you are suggesting to me:
  • Gold Sarc - $15 each
  • Archfiend Zombie-Skull - $32 each
  • Revived King Ha Des - $44 each (I have one already)
  • Catastor - $40
  • Shutendoji - $68
  • Mezuki - $37
  • Plaguespreader - $57
  • Card Trooper - $21
This is just for my area. And noone else around is willing to go online and risk just to turn around and give me a discount. Therefore, your main ideas will not help me. Another topic is "Shutendoji", I think it is too slow. Remove two Zombies for 1 card. Return a Zombie to top of deck. ONE of these effects per turn. While I would greatly love a Plaguespreader, I do not have that much to hand over right now. I am about to go to the happiest place on Earth. I am also conserned for your dismissal of Pride of the Weak. This works for Effect Monsters too. Combine that with "KotSS" and Opti-Camouflage Armor and it is a Draw 2 each turn. My newest configuration of my deck doesn't even have Phalanx Pike. Are you sure you looked? Pyramid Turtle will also allow me to hit my "Skull Servant", "KotSS", and "Wightmre" with "Chain Distruction". This is another idea I like.
in other news, I have a total of 2 Spells, 3 traps, and 3 monsters (Book of Life, Graceful Revival, and Zombie Master) to revive KotSS. Is that too much? --LordGeovanni- (Talk To Me) *Kupo* 09:49, January 18, 2011 (UTC)

Another Update on my page. My deck now only has 46 cards. I am looking for opinions still. Does anyone have and opinion on A Major Upset? --LordGeovanni- (Talk To Me) *Kupo* 16:14, January 19, 2011 (UTC)

You may want to include Zombie World and Kasha. Together they can clear the field and give you a strong beatstick. Jon Kovacs (talkcontribs) 01:29, January 20, 2011 (UTC)

Consider an alternative to the magical merchant or lightsworn engines. And this would be the Formula Synchron engine. with treeborn on the feild you can discard a card (perferably a skull, lady, mezuki,or plague) to special summon fishborg blaster which then you can use to synchro for Foumula synchron to draw a card. basically your filling up you graveyard with cards you want there, drawing a card, and having a chance to synchro for a bigger monster. it uses similar cards like foolish, one for one, and if treeborn is removed you can use burial from a different dimension because that card is a staple in the KoSS deck. This helps put pressure on your opponent because you basically have a synchro monster every turn. For example you have formula synchron out on the feild and you summon shutendoji. you have already drawn a card and ready to draw another with shuten which inter sets you up for a wightmare play. then you synchro for six, they solemn you and then you special your king. now you have a plus two and feild presence. of course you can only use formula three times which means you have to use pot of avirice to recycle your formulas but it is also good for recycling your wightmares for another use. and if you recycle all synchros then it's just a plus 2. I know i have written alot but I'm just trying to spread an alternative to the mill engine.
