Kaz is an officer who went undercover to infiltrate and investigate the crimes committed by a gang of thieves. Since [[Duel Runner]] related crimes have been rising throughout the city because of the [[World Racing Grand Prix|WRGP]], Sector Security has been at its work to stop it.

However, Kaz's investigation gets interrupted one night, as [[Jack Atlas]] and [[Carly Carmine]] were also doing some investigating of their own. After they witness the gang steal a number of Duel Runners and attempt to make their getaway. Jack tries to stop them, but the gang members are not afraid and its leader, [[Syd]], tries to shoot him. However, Kaz shields Jack, as Syd fires his laser weapon, he ultimately hits his Duel Runner. As it explodes, Kaz rolls onto the street critically injured, while the rest of the gang fled. 

As Jack gets to him, [[Tetsu Trudge|Trudge]] arrives and becomes aware of Kaz's condition. Later at the hospital, Trudge reveals to [[Yusei Fudo]], [[Crow Hogan]], Jack and Carly about what Kaz was doing and who he really is. After hearing all of this, Jack takes "[[Chaos King Archfiend]]" from Kaz's deck.

Eventually, Jack defeats Syd in a Duel, and also takes care of beating up the entire gang. After that, at the hospital Jack returns the "Chaos King Archfiend" card to Kaz, who is recovering and thanks him for his efforts. The two then agree to face each other in a [[Turbo Duel]] someday, and become good friends.

After Jack's arrest by [[Sector Security]], he confronts Trudge and tells him that Jack would never destroy Duel Runners and that Jack is a true Duelist. Trudge replies that he has no choice but to arrest him. Kaz reappears during Jack's Turbo Duel against his impostor. He tries to convince the [[Imposter Jack Atlas]] to stop all the chaos but the impostor merely laughs and rams Kaz's Duel Runner before escaping. When Kaz sees the real Jack, he tells him that he believes in him. He watches Jack's duel with the impostor and after Jack's victory he decides to give all the evidence to have Jack's criminal record cleared.
