Seven Barian Emperors[edit]

We already have pictures of the Seven Barian Emperors in their Barian forms. If you feel that your images are better than the ones we already have, upload new files using the original file names. Here's how to do it: Go to the old image, click the drop-down arrow next to "edit", and click "replace". Replace allows you to upload your new image under the old file name. Uploading images.[edit]

Hello there. Thank you for the images you uploaded. Just a couple of notes: the {{OCG-TCG card image}} template was updated, so now you just need to enter:

{{OCG-TCG card image
| name =
}}

Just place the name of the card there, like before. Another thing: if the images are watermarked, please use | watermark = 1, like so:

{{OCG-TCG card image
| name = Blizzard Thunderbird
| watermark = 1
}}

Thank you. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 21:36, September 13, 2016 (UTC)

Hi,
Thanks for taking time to explain to me.
Where did you find non watermarked images ? Please tell me, it'll be very helpfull. --Yes42 (talkcontribs) 13:26, September 14, 2016 (UTC)
No worries.
I use cards-capital.com.
And, by the way, you can use colons (:) to indent your text.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 13:39, September 14, 2016 (UTC)
Thanks!

Keep in mind[edit]

Hey there, nice to see another face going through and adding names/lores. I just want to say that the database isn't perfect, and that sometimes you have to make some edits to what you add.

For example, sometimes the database doesn't have a period at the end of lores.

The point of this reminder in particular, however, is whenever you see a list with the character ●, you have to add a space after the ●. Such as the edit I made to "Ancient Gear Gadjiltron Chimera". The database doesn't note that they're there, but they're supposed to be.

Bonne chance.TheycallmeBrick (talkcontribs) 20:12, October 4, 2016 (UTC)

Hi,
Thanks, i'll keep it in mind for the future. (However, i've already noticed it with Allure Queen LV5).
Merci.

RE:Portuguese name and lore[edit]

Be careful, not all of the cards have an official Portuguese lore. "Amazoness Scouts" already had the unofficial Portuguese lore tag; it wasn't you who added it. Its lore is unofficial. This is not something that can be done blindly; even if it has a Portuguese lore and a Portuguese release, it doesn't mean the Portuguese lore is necessarily official. And I was just pointing your edits, you don't need to remove the tag if it wasn't you who added it (because it probably means the lore was indeed unofficial). Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 20:24, October 4, 2016 (UTC)

After checking, i realized that the written lore was completly different from the card.
I will check my contributions in the next days.
Thanks for clarifying the situation.

Korean names and lores[edit]

Where are you getting the information for them? Can you actually understand Korean, or are you simply copy/pasting the names and lores? From the sites that I use to get Korean names and lores, they can occasionally be incorrect, so I have to manually compare the name and lore with the Korean card image.
I'm asking this because I've noticed you inserted the Korean name for "Hydro Pressure Cannon" without spaces, which a lot of Korean sites do with their YGO card names. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 19:57, October 9, 2016 (UTC)

Hi,
I'm getting the Korean Lores and Names from this site.--Yes42 (talkcontribs) 20:23, October 9, 2016 (UTC)
Well, I expect that you at least compare the Korean name on the website to the Korean name on the card image they have, and make sure they're spaced correctly.
As for the lores, that's fine, I don't expect you to go to the effort of comparing the Korean characters. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 20:25, October 9, 2016 (UTC)

New releases[edit]

Not cool man. Not cool.

If you want to start helping with adding names and lores on new releases, you should at least give me some advance warning so we can work something out (though, I would rather go solo). Going ahead and doing it just ruined about 2 weeks of planning on my part.

TheycallmeBrick (talkcontribs) 15:09, October 21, 2016 (UTC)

Hi Brick,
I'm really sorry if i 'stole' you the lores/names edits of these cards, i was just trying to help. I'll keep in mind for the future.
Thanks.
--Yes42 (talkcontribs) 15:23, October 21, 2016 (UTC)
I'm not mad that you did it, just that you didn't give me a heads-up so I could adjust accordingly. The job got done in the end, but two people doing the same job at the same time makes things confusing.

Bulleted effects[edit]

When copying bulleted effects from the Card Database, please note that it always inserts line breaks before bullets, regardless of the printed cards. Please make sure you only include the line breaks if they are printed on a physical card. --SnorlaxMonster 06:58, November 6, 2016 (UTC)

Replaced '.jpg' to '.png'.[edit]

Hi there. I see you've replaced the JPG entries to PNG at Set Card Galleries:Duelist Pack: Jaden Yuki 3 (TCG-FR-1E). However, the entry for "Neo-Spacian Grand Mole" had a JPG image (it wasn't empty), but you still changed it to PNG. In that case, you should either not change that entry to PNG (since a JPG image is available) or change all instances of the JPG image to PNG and tag the JPG image for deletion. The JPG image is still being presented in some pages, so please replace the links and tag it for deletion.
It's important to keep this in mind always; we don't want duplicated images nor copyrighted content floating around meaninglessly. Thank you. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 18:46, November 26, 2016 (UTC)

Hi, Sorry to have given you more work, it wasn't my aim.
Thanks for warning me, because there is actually another file that i uploaded, without replacing the older one.
The file that I uploaded is the full lenght song, while the older is a sample of the song. Which one should i delete ?--Yes42 (talkcontribs) 19:20, November 26, 2016 (UTC)
No problem. I see you tagged the file for deletion, but it's still being displayed on Card Gallery:Neo-Spacian Grand Mole. First you erase all of the instances of it, then you tag for deletion. I'll only delete the file after you change it on said page.
In the case of the .ogg file, you should have uploaded it over the existing one and then tag it for a rename. I will take care of that. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 19:51, November 26, 2016 (UTC)

Mover rights[edit]

Hi again. Just to let you know I've granted you mover rights. Now you can move files and pages. Some guidelines:

  • When moving pages on the main namespace, usually, you should leave a redirect behind. As for the rest, in general, you shouldn't. There are exceptions, of course. When moving files, you shouldn't leave redirects. If you do, please tag the redirect for deletion.
  • Also when moving files, you'll have access to the queue. I'd recommend you to also read this, for queue usage instructions.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask, even if they seem trivial. Enjoy and keep up the good work! Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 12:55, June 1, 2017 (UTC)

When you move a page, you should go to Special:Whatlinkshere and see what pages linked to the old page name and update those instances. By the way, there was no need to leave a redirect when moving the portal. Also "Anime" -> "anime". I've fixed all of this already. Let me know if you need something. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 19:09, June 1, 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for the rights and for your help ; I apologize to give you more work. So, if I correctly understood, a redirect is the only option to replace the link automatically in a large amount of pages ; but doesn't need to be used if this amount is really low ?
Here's my questions :
  • Is there any way to remove the {Rename} template automatically ?
  • When I'll move the User:Yes42/Sandbox to the Master Guide 5 Storylines, should I just copy/paste the content, or renaming the sandbox into the final title ?
Sorry again, I'm a still a beginner. --Yes42 (talkcontribs) 19:24, June 1, 2017 (UTC)
No problem.
No, no; leaving a redirect means that when a page is moved from A to B, the page A will have a special link to the page B. So if you have [[A]] and you click on it, you'll end up on page B. By not leaving a redirect, the page A will be left empty, no content there. You can read more about redirects at Wikipedia:Redirect. There is no way to replace a link automatically, unless we are talking about a file link (in that case, the queue is used), so you'll have to go to the special page I provided you above, check where the old page name is and update it yourself (if it's a page with tons and tons of instances, you can just point it to me, so I can do a bot run on it).
There is no way to remove {{Redirect}} automatically, no.
In that case, you should just copy the content leaving a note in the edit summary that you're copying it from your sandbox. You see, by doing it this way, you can freely adjust and experiment wit the content on the sandbox, not worrying about less important edits. When you move a page, the history of that page goes with it. In this particular case, we don't want an unnecessary large history to start, so, in this particular case, copying and pasting should be the way to go.
No need to be sorry. I'm here to help. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 20:10, June 1, 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for all of your explanations. I guess that's clear for now, and I found other subjects on Wikipedia that deals with rename. I'll surely need your help again in the future. --Yes42 (talkcontribs) 20:47, June 2, 2017 (UTC)
You're welcome. No problem, please feel free to ask, anytime.
By the way, don't forget about your signatures, even on your talk page. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 21:47, June 2, 2017 (UTC)

JPG images[edit]

Hi there. Please don't upload JPG images. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 18:33, August 18, 2017 (UTC)

Hi, Sorry, I forgot about that. I will change them into PNG.--Yes42 (talkcontribs) 18:36, August 18, 2017 (UTC)
Well, when I try to rename the page into .png, I get the error "Invalid file extension". And I cannot replace the image into a PNG one because it's a JPG file. What am I supposed to do ?--Yes42 (talkcontribs) 18:47, August 18, 2017 (UTC)
Yes, renaming a page doesn't convert the image extension. So it doesn't even let you do it. You'd have to convert the image yourself to PNG and upload it as PNG. Then tag the JPG for deletion. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 20:07, August 18, 2017 (UTC)
