Nomination

I'm nominating myself. I have experience as an administrator of multiple wikis and am very dedicated. I try to edit thoroughly and fix a lot of grammar. I also upload many images and fix many, many things on wikis. Those who may know me from other wikis may know that I have a strange habit of spending hours/days going through every example of something and fixing it . (like a Bot). Questions for the candidate

Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve as an administrator. Please answer the following four questions to provide guidance for participants:

1. What administrative work do you intend to take part in?
A: I want to be able to move images-the new image system is fantastic but a lot of the older pack's images have an older, not-as-efficient system. I can also block users if necessary although that's not the main reason that I would like to have the tools.
2. What do you consider to be your best contributions, and why?
A: My best contributions are probably my fixing of the grammar on every deck and most archetype pages. While compiling a list of archetypes, I went through every page of them and edited them, fixing most of the grammar and spelling issues as well as making some changes to comply with the MOS. I also went through most deck pages and did similar things.
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
A: I have recently been in a conflict with a User over a deck help (he didn't specify that he didn't want to use Tournament Staples and we ended up arguing). I dealt with it by not giving advice to that user for his decks. In the future, I plan to be less persistent in annoying people about their decks.
4. Do you regularly contribute to any other wikis? Are you an administrator or bureaucrat on any of them, or do you have accounts with similar roles on forums, blogs, etc.? Could you provide links, if so?
A: I used to contribute to another wiki as an administrator (Link), however, a trio of brothers, one of whom hosted over 20 different sockpuppets (which we didn't know about until very recently) and another of whom rampaged through articles, trying to help but with terrible grammar and a belief that all wikis should be like Wikipedia in almost every way deterred me from it. As of such, I haven't been on much and my interactions there have been rather and rather out of character for me. I also started a wiki on a small game and designed some templates and started some pages Castaway Wiki but I left due to a lack of time to use and a lack of editors.

Other editors may post optional questions for the candidate here.

Questions from Deltaneos

Questions... -- Deltaneos (talk) 14:23, May 20, 2011 (UTC)

5. Why did you block and unblock yourself on Brickipedia?
It made it easier to stay away for a few days. Not necessarily the best way...things have happened in the past that I definitely regret.
6. Are there any types of articles other than ones that are pure spam or vandalism that you foresee yourself deleting if you become an admin?
I wouldn't delete an article unless it was spam/vandalism or it was the sort that required a delete per a rule of the wiki.
7. If someone starts acting hostile to you over a page you deleted, how would you handle it?
I would direct them to the rule/discussion that would give an apt description why it was deleted. If there isn't a place to link to, I'd try to explain it to them and give them a warning if they become really hostile.
8. Two days ago there was an edit war on "Number 17: Leviath Dragon" over the translated Japanese name. Supposing that continues and you as an administrator are asked to intervene, what would you do?
I have little-to-no knowledge of Japanese names or the accuracy of Shriek.net (although I hear that it's very accurate). As such, I'd either redirect them to you or Dinoguy (or someone else) or try a new solution (I suggested using both Revise/Leviath as the translation since they are the same word in Japanese).

Support

Oppose

  • Not an easy decision, but opposing. Your edits are good and you're quite experienced with wikis, but I'm not entirely sure how you would handle conflicts. The Brickipedia self-block seems to have been over an argument with another editor. I believe you regret your actions, but it was still somewhat recent. There's also two instances of very minor edit wars 1 and 2. Again, very minor and sometimes happens with admins too, but are there instances where you've tried to start a talk page topic when another user keeps reverting you and wait for other editors to comment before taking further action? -- Deltaneos (talk) 01:15, May 30, 2011 (UTC)
  • I would be happy to have you as an Admin, but after know that you're in some fights I had to halt and tried to settle with that. After heard from other user's word, however I am not siding with him, it sound like you were the one to starting the flame against him. So I would be agree along with my respect and honour Admin - Delta-Neos - that you have bad habit to fighting and arguing over little thing like a conflict with several users. So I would oppose with this opinion. --FredCat 01:22, May 30, 2011 (UTC)
In fairness to BobaFett, the conflicts I mentioned weren't too major. Not something a lot of regular users don't experience. I wouldn't go so far as to say he was "fighting" or has "a bad habit of arguing over little things". He wasn't too far short of me supporting. I just don't think he's ready just yet. -- Deltaneos (talk) 01:41, June 5, 2011 (UTC)
Well, that's a point, and it's only my opinion. >_> --FredCat 10:40, June 5, 2011 (UTC)

Neutral

  • I'm so damn close to supporting you, don't get me wrong. I believe you would not repeat the same mistakes that you have in the past, but the issues are too recent for me to support. Having said that, I suggest you put up another RfA in a few months, provided there are no more issues. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 14:12, June 5, 2011 (UTC)
