A barian is a being originating from the Barian World, which is world of energy in Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL.
The residents of the Barian World have a feud with those in the Astral World and seek to destroy it. One Barian, Durbe, specified that if they do not, their own world has "no future".
Physically, Barians appear as red, fiery, energy beings.[1]. However, they often hide their forms even in their own world, instead wearing concealing cloaks of various colors and adorning their faces with masks.[2]
Led by the Seven Barian Lords, the Barians wish to gather the "Numbers" and destroy the Astral World. They cannot wield the "Numbers" themselves, so they initially worked through humans such as Dr. Faker and Vetrix.[2]
When their human pawns and Vector were defeated, Durbe determiend they would have to intervent directly. To that end, he sends Gilag to Earth.[2] On Earth, Barians can take human form, though they do not decide what they look like and are unable to wield "Chaos Xyzes".[3]
So far, Vector, Alit, Misael, Gilag and Durbe are the known Barians.
