TCG Rulings
Judge Program Forum Rulings
These Ruling(s) have not been confirmed as applicable to the TCG.[Notes 1] |
- This card is considered an "Archfiend" card. "Archfiend" cards are:
- Anything with "Archfiend" in the name.
- A Deal with Dark Ruler
- Axe of Despair
- B. Skull Dragon
- Beast of Talwar
- Fiend Skull Dragon
- Lesser Fiend
- Shadow Tamer
- Summoned Skull
- Toon Summoned Skull
Previously Official Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been declared unofficial by Konami.[1] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. Mentions in Other Rulings
- Archfiend's Roar: You can select a "Special Summon-only" Archfiend like "Fiend Skull Dragon" or "Toon Summoned Skull" with "Archfiend's Roar", but only if they were Summoned properly earlier in the Duel.
Toon monster Rulings
OCG Rulings
- If a Set "Toon World" is destroyed by "Mystical Space Typhoon", Toon monsters like "Toon Mermaid" are not destroyed by their own effect.[11]
- If a face-up "Toon Kingdom" is destroyed by "Mystical Space Typhoon", since "Toon World" is treated as being destroyed on the field, Toon monsters like "Toon Mermaid" are destroyed by their own effect.[12]
- While the effect of "Toon World" is being negated by "Imperial Order" or "Mystic Probe", "Toon World" is still being treated as a card on the field. Therefore, you can still Special Summon Toon monsters.[13]
- While "Toon World" and "Skill Drain" are active, if "Heavy Storm" is activated and both cards are destroyed simultaneously, Toon monsters like "Toon Gemini Elf" are destroyed by their own effects.[14]
- If "Toon World" and "Gagaga Shield" are destroyed by the effect of "Icarus Attack", after the effect of "Icarus Attack" has finished resolving the effect "If "Toon World" on the field is destroyed, destroy this card" of "Toon Gemini Elf" immediately applies, and "Toon Gemini Elf" itself is destroyed as a result. Also, if "Toon World" and "Gagaga Shield" are destroyed by "Judgment Dragon", because "Toon World" was destroyed, the effect of "Toon Gemini Elf" immediately applies, and "Toon Gemini Elf" itself is destroyed as a result.[15]
- Since Tributing monsters to Special Summon "Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon" is not a Tribute Summon, you can Special Summon it by Tributing "Sheep Tokens" that were Special Summoned by the effect of "Scapegoat". (However, since you cannot Summon other monsters during the turn you activated "Scapegoat", you cannot Special Summon "Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon" during that turn.)[16]
- You can Tribute a monster affected by "Soul Exchange" to Special Summon "Toon Dark Magician Girl".[17]
- If the activation of a Spell Card is negated and destroyed by "Magic Jammer", it is not treated as being destroyed on the field. Therefore, even if the activation of "Toon World" is negated and destroyed, Toon monsters like "Toon Mermaid" are not destroyed by their own effect. (If the activation of "Toon Kingdom" is negated and destroyed, since its name is not treated as "Toon World", Toon monsters like "Toon Mermaid" are not destroyed by their own effect.)[18]
- If "Toon World" or "Toon Kingdom" is sent to the Graveyard as a cost to activate "Emergency Provisions", since "Toon World" or "Toon Kingdom" is not treated as being destroyed, Toon monsters like "Toon Mermaid" are not destroyed by their own effect.[19]
- Since "Toon Mermaid", "Manga Ryu-Ran", "Toon Summoned Skull", "Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon" and "Toon Dark Magician Girl" are Special Summon Monsters, even if their Levels are changed by the effect of "Level Conversion Lab", the number of Tributes to Special Summon them are not changed. To Special Summon "Toon Mermaid", no monsters are Tributed. To Special Summon "Toon Summoned Skull" and "Toon Dark Magician Girl", you must Tribute 1 monster. To Special Summon "Manga Ryu-Ran" and "Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon", you must Tribute 2 monsters.[20]
- The text "You can Special Summon this card by controlling "Toon World"" of "Toon Mermaid", "Manga Ryu-Ran", "Toon Summoned Skull", "Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon" and "Toon Dark Magician Girl" is a procedure to Special Summon a Special Summon Monster from your hand. After being Special Summoned using this procedure, if they are sent to the Graveyard, they can be Special Summoned with "Monster Reborn" even if you do not control a face-up "Toon World".[21]
- If "Hundred Eyes Dragon" banishes a Toon monster like "Toon Summoned Skull", then "Hundred Eyes Dragon" is not treated as a Toon monster even though it gained the name of one, so if it is attacked then "Toon Defense" cannot be activated.[22]
Previously Official Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been deemed unofficial by Konami.[23] They were previously considered official, but may or may not necessarily hold true nowadays. |
- This rule applies for "Toon Mermaid", "Toon Summoned Skull", "Manga Ryu-Ran" and "Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon"[Notes 2]: If "Toon World" is returned to a player’s hand, with cards such as "Giant Trunade" these Toon Monsters are not destroyed since "Toon World" was not destroyed.[24]
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Time Machine: If a Toon Monster like "Toon Mermaid", "Toon Summoned Skull",
"Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon"[Notes 3], or "Manga Ryu-Ran" is destroyed by battle and set [sic] to the Graveyard while "Toon World" is not face-up on the field, "Time Machine" cannot be activated.
Notes
- ↑ Konami Judge Program Rulings are considered unverified, as their source(s) are not publicly viewable. They are not confirmed as applicable to the TCG until they have been officially published by Konami.
- ↑ The same ruling applies to all Toon monsters; these Toon monsters are specifically listed as they are the only ones that existed at the time.
- ↑ The latest print of "Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon" has Problem-Solving Card Text that specifies that "Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon" only requires "Toon World" to be on the field when initially Special Summoned, not when Special Summoned from the Graveyard.
