** It doesn't matter how "Dandylion" is sent to the Graveyard. You could also send it there by activating cards like "[[Card Destruction]]" or "[[Destruct Potion]]", depending on where it is. Since "[[Monster Reincarnation]]" is often found in a "Lightsworn Deck", it would be a good choice to use if it's in your Hand. "[[Judgment Dragon]]" is also a good way to send it to the Graveyard if its on the field, since you'd wipe out the whole field, which could easily create an OTK, since "Shooting Star Dragon" and whatever other monsters you'll have (e.g "Judgment Dragon") will be able to attack directly.

* If you don't have a Synchro Tuner monster, you can subsitute it with "[[Lightwave Tuning]]" and "[[Armory Arm]]". [[Activate]] "[[Lightwave Tuning]]" on "[[Armory Arm]]" which now treated as a Synchro Tuner monster. Reduce the [[Level]] of the "[[Stardust Dragon]]" you control until 6 or your "[[Armory Arm]]" until 2. Then, with both, you can [[Accel Synchro Summon]] a "Shooting Star Dragon".

  • To counter this card effectively, use Counter Traps. "Shooting Star Dragon" cannot activate its effect in chain because Counter Traps have a higher Spell Speed.
  • This card can be easily Summoned in one turn using only 2 cards if "Formula Synchron" is already in your Graveyard. Special Summon "Cyber Dragon", "Oracle of the Sun" or "Vice Dragon", from your hand, then Normal Summon "Junk Synchron" and use its effect to revive "Formula Synchron". Then, using "Junk Synchron" and the Level 5 monster, Synchro Summon "Stardust Dragon". Finally, tune "Formula Synchron" and "Stardust Dragon" to summon this card.
    • If you have "Stardust Xiaolong" and one level 1 tuner in your graveyard you can use the above combo, just special summon the level 1 tuner with "Junk Synchron", then, when "Stardust Dragon" is summoned you can special summon "Xiaolong" from the graveyard and synchro with the Level 1 tuner for "Formula Synchron".
  • This card is extremely easy to Summon in a Fish Deck. Summon "Superancient Deepsea King Coelacanth" and use its effect to Special Summon: "Fishborg Blaster", "Deepsea Macrotrema", "Royal Swamp Eel" and any Level 4 Fish from your deck.
    • Another variation of this move is Summon "Superancient Deepsea King Coelacanth" and use its effect to Special Summon: 2x "Fishborg Blaster" and "Deepsea Macrotrema" from your deck. You can use "Superancient Deepsea King Coelacanth" (Level 7) and "Fishborg Blaster" (Level 1) to summon "Stardust Dragon" and "Fishborg Blaster" and "Deepsea Macrotrema" for "Formula Synchron".
      • A third variation of this is: Using "Superancient Deepsea King Coelacanth's" effect, summon "Royal Swamp Eel" and "7 Colored Fish"/"Abyssal Kingshark"/"Golden Flying Fish"/"Metabo-Shark" and "Oyster Meister" and "Fishborg Blaster". Synchro summon "Stardust Dragon" using "Royal Swamp Eel" and "7 Colored Fish"/"Abyssal Kingshark"/"Golden Flying Fish"/"Metabo-Shark". Synchro summon "Armory Arm" using "Oyster Meister" and "Fishborg Blaster". Bring back "Fishborg Blaster" and synchro summon "Formula Synchron" using the "Oyster Token" and "Fishborg Blaster". Synchro summon "Shooting Star Dragon" using "Formula Synchron" and "Stardust Dragon". It's probably best to equip "Armory Arm" to "Superancient Deepsea King Coelacanth" so that it can stay on the field longer, as compared to equipping to "Shooting Star Dragon", who will send an equipped "Armory Arm to the graveyard if "Shooting Star Dragon" uses its attack negation effect (its third effect).
  • You can create an OTK with this card providing your opponent has no monsters and you pick up at least 3 Tuner monsters.
  • This card bears the same weakness as cards with similar self-removal effects: namely, by using "Burial from a Different Dimension" (or cards with similar effects) once this card has been removed by its own effect. You will force this card into the Graveyard and prevent its return to the field.
  • Equip this card with "Silver Wing" to make this card extremely powerful, together with its own negation ability.
  • You can special summon "Level Eater" by decreasing another level 5 or higher monster you control except "Stardust Dragon", then use it with a level 1 "Tuner" monster to easily Synchro Summon "Formula Synchron", then you can Synchro Summon "Shooting Star Dragon" very quickly. Also, remember that "Level Eater" can be special summon many times per turn from your Graveyard as long as you control a monster which level can be decreased by 1 while it is level 5 or higher.
  • This card is fairly easy to summon in a "Lightsworn" Deck. All you need is "Grow Up Bulb", "Spore" and "Plaguespreader Zombie" in your Graveyard and "Wulf, Lightsworn Beast" and "Foolish Burial" in your Hand as well as a "Dandylion" in your Deck (or "Dandylion" in your Hand and "Wulf, Lightsworn Beast" in your Deck, doesn't matter). Use "Foolish Burial" to send "Dandylion" to the Graveyard, triggering its effect to Special Summon 2 Level 1 tokens. Then, activate "Plaguespreader Zombie's" effect, and place "Wulf, Lightsworn Beast" on top of your Deck. Send the top card of your Deck to the Graveyard (which is "Wulf") to Special Summon "Grow Up Bulb" from the Graveyard and "Wulf, Lightsworn Beast", since you send it from the deck to the Graveyard. Tune "Grow Up Bulb" with one of the tokens to Synchro Summon "Formula Synchron" and draw a card. Remove "Dandylion" from your Graveyard to Special Summon "Spore". Tune "Spore" with "Wulf, Lightsworn Beast" to Synchro Summon "Stardust Dragon". Tune "Formula Synchron" with "Stardust Dragon" to Synchro Summon "Shooting Star Dragon". Since you didn't Normal Summon, you can summon any monster for another Synchro Summon, since "Plaguespreader Zombie" is still on the field (preferably "Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner" and discard a card to Special Summon "Wulf, Lightsworn Beast" to Synchro Summon "Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier", which will give you a nice card advantage.)
    • It doesn't matter how "Dandylion" is sent to the Graveyard. You could also send it there by activating cards like "Card Destruction" or "Destruct Potion", depending on where it is. Since "Monster Reincarnation" is often found in a "Lightsworn Deck", it would be a good choice to use if it's in your Hand. "Judgment Dragon" is also a good way to send it to the Graveyard if its on the field, since you'd wipe out the whole field, which could easily create an OTK, since "Shooting Star Dragon" and whatever other monsters you'll have (e.g "Judgment Dragon") will be able to attack directly.
    • Try to get the cards to the Graveyard by using cards like "Solar Recharge" and "Charge of the Light Brigade". Since "Lightsworns" mill their deck pretty fast, this is also a good method to send your "Lightsworns" to the Graveyard and still have powerful monsters on the field, if your close to deck-out.
