- This is the Cover Card for the TCG collection Hidden Arsenal.
- This card is the first Sea Serpent-Type monster to be a Cover Card on a Booster Pack.
- Furthermore, it's the second Sea Serpent to be a Cover Card of any set, the first being "Ocean Dragon Lord - Neo-Daedalus".
- This card is the first Sea Serpent-Type monster to be a Cover Card on a Booster Pack.
- This card's effect is similar to the effect of "Red Ogre".
- This card has a watered down version, "Abyss Soldier".
- "Brionac" is the name of a magic, living spear said to be owned by Lugh, a deity in Irish mythology.
- This card is currently the only "Dragon of the Ice Barrier" card that is not Dragon-Type itself. Unlike "Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier" and "Gungnir, Dragon of the Ice Barrier", "Brionac" is a Sea Serpent-Type monster.
- This card and "Goyo Guardian" were the first Synchro Monsters to become Limited, with this card also being the first and only limited Sea Serpent-Type monster at the time.
- As of September 2012 Lists, this card is the only Forbidden Sea Serpent-Type monster.
