The Evol monsters are a series of three FIRE attribute sub-archetypes: Reptile-Type "Evoldo" monsters, Dinosaur-Type "Evoldar" monsters and Dragon-Type "Evolkaiser" monsters. "Evoldo" monsters Special Summon "Evoldar" monsters, who gain a variety of effects, when Special Summoned by the effect of "Evoldo" monsters, and "Evolkaiser" monsters who are Xyz Summoned by using Dinosaur-Type monsters as materials.
The Evol are a toolbox archetype, similar to Gladiator Beasts, in that they gain their effects when they are special summoned by other evols.
The archetype name, Evol, is derived from evolution.
They are based on evolution from Reptiles → Dinosaurs → Dragons. This is referenced in some cards, such as Ultra Evolution Pill. All members have a tail with a visible DNA strand inside it, referencing their 'evolving' nature.
Recommended cards
Because "Evol" consists of three main archetypes and toolbox type it is good to use a searcher in the deck ("Fossil Dig"). Summon "Odokeris" and use its effect to Special Summon "Urukandon". If you have another "Evoldar" monster in your Graveyard, Special Summon it and Xyz Summon "Evolkaiser Ragia" while "Odokeris" can be used as tribute for "Offering to the Snake Deity". You can use "Foolish Burial" to get "Evoldar" monsters into your Graveyard. "Evoldo Gephairos" can give you an easy "Evolkaiser Ragia" by Special Summoning "Uraknodon" back to the field although at the cost of some Life Points. "Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter" can be a good milling card along with "Card Trooper" but they can also hurt the deck strategies.
