The key to a Beatdown deck, is to put your opponent in the defense, and to destroy their monsters and their life points as quickly as possible. To make a successful Beatdown deck, you must be caution of your monster's defense points which are lower than their attack points. You must be prepared when your opponent uses a card such as "[[Shield & Sword]]" or "[[Curse of Anubis]]" which will switch your monsters to defense. To counter these, use cards such as "[[Magic Jammer]]" and "[[Trap Jammer]]" to save your monsters. It is also handy to have a "[[Mirror Force]]" and "[[Waboku]]" in your deck if your opponent attacks your monsters. Also, it will be beneficial to have a "[[Nobleman of Crossout]]" or two in your deck to get rid of face-down cards that your opponent may summon to destroy your monsters.

A good way to beat a Beatdown deck is to use the card "[[Shield & Sword]]". The "[[Shield & Sword]]" card changes the atk power and the def power of monsters on the field. Since most of your opponent's monsters will have high attack and low defense, you clearly have to advantage to take out your opponent's monsters and most of your opponent's life points that turn. To save one of your monsters from being attacked the next turn by your opponent, it may be best to have a card such as "[[Negate Attack]]" or "[[Waboku]]" or a similar card to save your life points the next turn. If you repeat this strategy for about 3 turns, you may lessen your opponent's life points by a lot. After you've weakened your opponent's life points, you can use cards such as "[[Meteor of Destruction]]" or a card with an identical effect to destroy your opponent's life points without being touched.
