In Joey Wheeler vs. Mako Tsunami, Joey Fusion Summoned this monster, but was not allowed to attack on the same turn. Mako Set a monster, hidden Umi. Since it was a Water monster, Joey's Alligator Sword Dragon was able to attack Mako directly, dropping his Life Points to 1600. Mako then Set a card and Joey attempted to win the Duel in his next turn, but Mako activated Tornado Wall to negate the damage. Mako then Tributed his Set monster to Summon The Legendary Fisherman. Joey activated Energy Drain to reduce its ATK to 0, but because Umi was active, The Legendary Fisherman was unaffected by Spell Cards. It destroyed Alligator Sword Dragon and dropped Joey's Life Points to 3050.
