- In the Toei anime and Bandai card game, this card's artwork had a different color scheme, with a blue demon and pink dragon in a yellow and green vortex.
- This card has a version with an alternate artwork and password, the former featuring what appear to be "flesh-and-blood" counterparts of the figures in the classic artwork, engulfed by a vortex leading to a copy of "Polymerization" whose own artwork is replaced by a glowing and spinning hexagram.
- Outside Japan, the hexagram is replaced by a generic sigil to avoid any religious connotation. Unlike most other cards including other cards in their artworks, the "Polymerization" card is not translated to English. A further edited version exists that does have the card translated and with an updated frame layout, but it has only been used in video games and has not seen a physical release yet.
- As of its reprint in Prismatic God Box, the hexagram has also been replaced in the Japanese version of the artwork, this time with a pentagram. The frame of the card in the artwork was also updated to the Series 10 one.
- In Quarter Century Legendary Selection, this card was given a 3rd artwork. It is similar to the 2nd artwork in design, but with "Elemental HERO Burstinatrix" and "Elemental HERO Avian" instead of the generic creatures, and the "Polymerization" card uses the 1st artwork.
- For its Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel release, this card's first OCG/TCG artwork was redrawn.
