- This card can be searched by "Serpentine Princess", "Vampire Dragon", "Sphere of Chaos", "Flamvell Poun", "Atlantean Dragoons", "Underworld Egg Clutch", "Deep Sea Diva", "Shark Cruiser", "Mermail Abysspike" and "Mother Grizzly".
- This card can combine very well with "Deep Sea Diva" and "Treeborn Frog".
- Because "A Legendary Ocean" downgrades the Level of all Water Monsters in the hand or field by one, it can make any Level 4 Water Monster a legal target for this card's effect.
- Activate this card's effect before another monster you control receives the backside of a temporary effect (in the end phase). ("Mind Control", "Return from the Different Dimension" etc.)
- This card works very well when used with "Turbo Booster". When you Normal Summon this card, you can Special Summon "Turbo Booster" from your hand and activate the effect of "Mermaid Archer" to equip it to her.
- If you control a "Poison Draw Frog", you can equip it to this card, so when "Mermaid Archer" will be destroyed, you can destroy the equipped "Poison Draw Frog" to save "Mermaid Archer" and draw 1 card.

- This card can be searched by "Witch of the Black Forest", "Last Will" and "Sangan".
- Activate this card's effect after using "Brain Control" on an opponent's Level 3 or lower monster to prevent that monster from returning back to the opponent's side at the End Phase.
