  • Special Summoning this card with the effect of Giant Rat eliminates the purpose of using it, so you should activate Book of Moon to use its effect.
  • Use "Morphing Jar's" effect while you have "Magical Thorn" and "Greed" on the field. That way you will inflict massive damage to your opponent (2500 for the cards drawn due to Greed and 500 for each card discarded due to Magical Thorn).
  • Set your Spell and Trap Cards before "Morphing Jar" is flipped to get the most out of its effect, but keep in mind that suddenly doing so may telegraph your plan to your opponent, who might do the same.
    • If you draw Morphing Jar while you have a lot of cards in your hand, just try to play normally and save it until your hand is low, so they're less likely to expect it.
  • Use Book of Taiyou to activate "Morphing Jar's" effect on your own turn. This will keep your opponent from either doing damage control by setting their own cards, or destroying Morphing Jar before its effect can activate.
  • Use this card's effect while Coffin Seller is on the field, that way if your opponent has extra monsters in their hand, they are forced to discard them and take 300 Life Points of damage for each monster discarded.
  • This card is ideal in a Dark World deck. Give this card to your opponent using Creature Swap then attack it with any monster (you can attack with the newly gained monster, as it does not necessarily have to destroy Morphing Jar). Since it's under your opponent's control, this can activate the secondary effects of almost all Dark World monsters. This can be especially deadly if you have two Reign-Beaux, Overlord of Dark Worlds and two Beiige, Vanguard of Dark World in your hand, which can form an otk. This can also be used as a cheap way to activate the effects of multiple Broww, Huntsman of Dark World, allowing you to draw 6 additional cards for practically no cost.
  • This card is ideal in a Zombie Deck for sending any Zombie monster you want to Special Summon later.
  • This card can also counter Infernity monster's effect, by forcing your opponent to draw 5 cards.
  • In addition to disrupting your opponent, this card is useful for replenishing your hand in decks with little draw power that tend to empty the hand quickly, such as Aliens.
  • Return 2 monsters to your opponent's hand with Penguin Soldier, then flip this card over so they lose those monsters. Don't ever do this against Dark World decks, though.
  • You can just wait till your hand is empty and then flip it, then draw. Or if you have Forced Requisition and if you have 5 or more cards in your hand, then your opponent won't have any cards left for themselves.
