- This card can be searched by "Soul Rope", "Resonator Engine", "Vampire Dragon", "Summoner Monk", "Creeping Darkness", "Dark General Freed" and "Mystic Tomato".
- A great trick to end your opponent's attacks: if your opponent has two monsters on the field and one of them destroys "Newdoria", destroy the monster that didn't attack. It prevents your opponent from conducting a direct attack and it'll force them to end the Battle Phase. This also works with any other monster that allows you to destroy one monster on the field, like "Man-Eater Bug".
- Since "Newdoria" doesn't specify a specific target, it can be a nice card for "Yubel" after ramming it into an opponent's monster.
- At the cost of some Life Points, you can suicide this monster into stronger monsters that are in Attack Position to destroy them.
- Use cards like "Time Machine" with this card. This can be frustrating for the opponent, and cause them to hesitate attacking again.
- Although this card destroys a monster when defeated in battle, this can still be stopped with cards like "Safe Zone" or "Stardust Dragon".
Traditional Format
- This card can be searched by "Sangan", "Last Will" and "Witch of the Black Forest".
