- This card can negate the effects of 3 of the other 5 Dragons (Black Rose Dragon, Ancient Fairy Dragon and Red Dragon Archfiend).
- This card can easily be summoned with a level 3 Tuner monster (like "Dark Resonator") and "Instant Fusion", using it to special summon a Level 5 Fusion monster (Like "Reaper on the Nightmare").
- To summon this monster in one turn, use the effects of "Cyber Dragon" or "The Tricky" to Special Summon themselves, then Normal Summon a level 3 Tuner monster.
- Use the above strategy, but for a Level 3 Tuner monster, summon Counselor Lily. By spending an extra 500 Life Points, you can boost Stardust Dragon's ATK by 1000 for one turn!
- Use "Card of Safe Return" with this card, so every time it revives itself after preventing destruction, you get to draw an extra card.
- You can use "Dragon's Rage" to almost ensure that you can deal damage each turn without hesitating to attack because of its revival effect.
- Running cards like "Dark Bribe", "Solemn Judgment", and "Imperial Iron Wall" will keep "Stardust Dragon" safe from cards that remove it from play or negate its effect.
- Use Destiny Draw or Foolish Burial to get Destiny Hero - Malicious into the Graveyard, then use his effect to Special Summon another copy of Destiny Hero - Malicious, then use Emergency Teleport to get Krebons onto the field, in order to Synchro Summon Stardust Dragon.
- Alternatively, you can use Dark Grepher's effect to to send Destiny Hero - Malicious from your hand to the graveyard, then send Plaguespreader Zombie from your deck to the graveyard or vice versa. You can then use their effects to special summon them to the field and Synchro Summon Stardust Dragon.
- This card works well with Skill Drain because this cards effect is a cost and Skill Drain only negates the effect not the cost since the cost is payed to activate the effect
- This card also creates a lock with King Dragun being that Stardust Dragon cannot be targeted and also negates destruction effects.
- This card works well with Wave-Motion Cannon since it can prevent it from being destroyed, thus giving you a better chance of it surviving 8 turns.
- An easy way to Synchro Summon this card is to have Junk Synchron, Speed Warrior, Quillbolt Hedgehog, and Synchro Boost in your Deck. 1.) Summon Junk Synchron from your Hand. 2.) Make sure you have Speed Warrior and Quillbolt Hedgehog in your Graveyard. Once Summoned, use Junk Synchron's Effect to Special Summon Speed Warrior, then Special Summon Quillbolt Hedgehog from it's Effect. 3. Equip Synchro Boost to one of the three Monsters. 4. Finally, tune your Junk Synchron with your Speed Warrior and Quillbolt Hedgehog to Synchro Summon this card.
- A good way to get rid of your opponent's "Stardust Dragon" is by using "Share the Pain" when your opponent has no other monsters on the field. This way the Stardust is tributed, but for the effect of "Share the Pain", not for its own effect.
A very easy way to Synchro Summon this card is to Special Summon The Tricky and then Summon a Level 3 Tuner Monster, like Junk Synchron.
