A Duel Arena

A Duel Arena is Solid Vision technology used to create holographic projections of cards, while playing Duel Monsters, in the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga. It is similar to a Battle Box, but is not enclosed in walls. Players sit at a table inside the arena to play and the projections of the cards appear on the table between them.

Appearances

Maximillion J. Pegasus had one such arena in his castle. It was set up on ground level, but could be elevated to the height of the next floor, where Duels could be observed from balconies.[1] This was used on ground level for the Duelist Kingdom semifinals and elevated for Pegasus' Duels with Seto Kaiba and Yugi Mutou.

Anime version

In the anime, larger Duel Arenas were used instead of Battle Boxes. Unlike the manga Duel Arenas, the arenas were larger, players were further apart and had separate tables. Larger projections of the monsters appeared in the space between the players.
