DesignEdit
Jinzo's usual outfit consists of a long green coat equipped with shoulder pads and a spiked collar, bracelets, and belt. His face features thick veins and signs of deformity with the greatest part covered by a mask. The optional "Amplifier" features a metallic helmet inserting various needles inside.
Jinzo's spirit is also seen wearing a disguise, consisting of a large, black trench coat with buttons and a tall collar, a fedora hat, a pair of black gloves, a pair of black boots, and a long greyish-white scarf to cover the better part of his face. The eyes and nasal portions of his mask are still visible.

Seven StarsEdit
Starting Year at Duel AcademyEdit
A group of three students, including Torrey, Isaka, and Mukouda, unwittingly called the spirit of Jinzo in a forbidden ritual to contact Duel Monster Spirits using a ouija board. Through the planchette, Jinzo's spirit told the three students he would require three sacrifices in order to manifest itself. Torrey and his friends assumed that Jinzo meant cards and they agreed. When Isaka and Mukouda disappeared one by one, Torrey realized that Jinzo meant the souls of the people who summoned him and he was the final sacrifice. He attempted to escape Duel Academy onto the ferry set to disembark for winter vacation, but as he was on the docks, he spotted Jinzo in disguise, waiting for him on the boat. Jinzo slightly revealed his masked face to Torrey, causing him to retreat back into the island.
Later that evening, Torrey is running through Duel Academy island and sought the help of his teacher, Professor Lyman Banner, who spent the winter vacation at the Slifer Red dorm with Jaden Yuki, Syrus Truesdale, and Chumley Huffington. After Torrey told his story, Jinzo caused a power outage before kidnapping Torrey and running into the forest, followed by Jaden, Syrus, Chumley, and Banner. Banner's cat, Pharaoh sensed the spirit of Jinzo and followed it to the island's central power supply station.
After Jinzo's spirit revealed himself using the power supply station's electrical waves, Jaden offered to take Torrey's place on the condition that they Duel, to which Jinzo agreed. Jinzo gains an early advantage using the continuous combination of "Malice Doll of Demise" and "Ectoplasmer" to deal Jaden damage on the first turn. Every time Jaden lost his Life Points, his body was sacrificed to Jinzo. After Jaden destroys his "Ectoplasmer", Jinzo Tributed "Malice Doll of Demise" to Tribute Summon his card form, preventing the activation of Trap Cards. He later equipped himself with "Amplifier" to allow himself to use Trap Cards.
On Jaden's final turn, Jinzo noticed the spirit of his "Winged Kuriboh", which Jaden rebuked that Winged Kuriboh, unlike Jinzo, does not need sacrifice to power himself. Jaden used the effect of "Clay Wrap" equipped to "Elemental Hero Clayman"to destroy "Amplifier", causing Jinzo to be destroyed. Jinzo's body briefly possessed Torrey's body to Special Summon his card form from the Graveyard with "Call of the Haunted", but Jaden counters it with "Solemn Judgment" to negate its activation and destroy it. Jaden attacks Jinzo directly with "Elemental Hero Mudballman", defeating Jinzo in an explosion of bright red energy.[1]
Against the Shadow RidersEdit
During Jaden's Shadow Duel with Nightshroud (possessing Atticus Rhodes), he recalls his Duel with Jinzo based on the realistic damage he took.[2]
Other appearancesEdit
DeckEdit
Jinzo plays an Occult Jinzo Deck, based on how his spirit was summoned through an occult ritual. He initially focuses on the abilities of "Malice Doll of Demise" and "Ectoplasmer", where the latter card sends the former card to the Graveyard to deal continuous effect damage, and then the former card can be Special Summoned on his next turn via its effect. The strategy is also used against him by his opponent, but in return, he is forced to send their monster to the Graveyard, leaving their field defenseless against attacks from his other monsters.
Jinzo later shifts his focus on "Jinzo", which he can use with "Amplifier" so he could use Trap Cards and preventing his opponent from using said cards. He intended on using the effect of "Call of the Haunted" to Special Summon "Jinzo" from the Graveyard (whose effects would prevent the effect of "Call of the Haunted" from destroying "Jinzo" it left the field), but this strategy was thwarted by Jaden Yuki.
