Silver Glaceon

I upload and edit lots of files, and being able to move misnamed ones would be useful. - Silver Glaceon @ 05:57, June 16, 2012 (UTC)

Granted. Feel free to ask if you need any help. =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 07:51, June 16, 2012 (UTC)

LegenaryAsariUgetsu

Well, just because it'd be very useful for me. Also, I'm virtually the responsible for the 5D's, ZEXAL and D Team ZEXAL mangas here, so usually it's me who adds the articles for the new cards and stuff like that. Being able to rename the pages would be more practical that asking an Admin to rename the files every time. LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 17:39, June 17, 2012 (UTC)

Strong support. -- The Goblin  I'm feelin' the flow  17:40, June 17, 2012 (UTC)
"Automatically" granted. I've previously considered giving you Mover, but don't remember why I didn't... Maybe because I didn't think you needed it based on your pagemoves at the time? *shrugs* At any rate, I don't see any reason not to grant you the userright. =D ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 05:15, June 18, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, you two :).LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 20:25, June 19, 2012 (UTC)

Hide Head Turtle

I deal with many unreleased card articles and their Japanese translations. Having Mover rights would allow me to better rename the articles to fit the appropriately given English translations. You have my word that all my page moves will be done with suitable explanations. Thanks in advance for your consideration of my requests.  HHT   - (Talk to the Turtle) 14:19, June 30, 2012 (UTC)

SharkTenjo

Well, whenever a TCG name is revealed and moves will be required, I am willing to move these pages to have their correct TCG name when people do not bother in renaming them like the Chronomaly archetype's anime-only members. Also I always add screenshot images in this wikia to help the articles and by doing so, i've seen some incorrect file names like the Episode previews --SharkTenjo 03:48, July 8, 2012 (UTC)

The links should actually be:
But if you really want to keep SharkTenjo, you might want to look at Help:Changing your username.
Anyhow, granted. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 04:00, July 8, 2012 (UTC)

I've uploading images, even following the image policy, I sometimes mess up, that's why I haven't uploading much Images, I didn't uploaded the new/final image spoilers because of messing up, but with this I can correct myself and others. One of the reasons I want to because a mover because, when moving a file/renaming it get difficult because I get affect by action throttles and that really difficult. E.G.G. UltimateKuriboh

Well, I just saw an incorrectly named image, but found that I couldn't move it at my current permission level. I know more than enough to check the image policy, and I believe the example of the name change for said image I presented to Cheesedude was accurate. I will probably not be heaving weight like other users dedicated to image-naming will be, but will probably dabble in bursts of renaming every so often. UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 06:56, December 27, 2012 (UTC)

Done (how did you not already have mover?!). =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 07:48, December 27, 2012 (UTC)
I never felt pressed to ask for it, and I have messed up before once with an Archetype group of redirects. Anyways, thank you! --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 08:01, December 27, 2012 (UTC)

Elvin Kara

I have knowledge about Image policy. But sometimes I fail with image name. And when I rename pages, that "Leave a redirect behind" not appear for me. I think because I have no Mover status. Thats why we discuss it there. Elvin Kara (talkcontribs) 09:26, July 7, 2014 (UTC)

Frequent editor; have moved several incorrectly named pages before, including translation errors, transcription errors, disambiguations that appear, or when an anime card's English spelling is silently revealed on yugioh.com (e.g. "Etheric Mahes" -> "Etheric Maahes"). Scheepybird

There are a few pages whose names are incorrect, so if I can rename them, it'll be a pleasure, and it will be useful for later on. Scheepybird (talkcontribs) 15:27, September 19, 2015 (UTC)

Which pages have incorrect names? Have you tagged any of them with {{Rename}}? ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 06:07, October 5, 2015 (UTC)

Obelisk the Tormentor (manga character),The Winged Dragon of Ra (manga character), and I'm planning on renaming Seeker (and those pages have that on them). Scheepybird (talkcontribs) 02:25, October 11, 2015 (UTC)

Why do those pages need to be renamed? Seeker is the best name we have, because he simply doesn't have a name in other media. Ra and Obelisk are named as they are for the same reason that we have pages under the English names for characters; we're an English-focused Wiki, with cultural and linguistic references made to their Japanese origins, where applicable. A misguided crusade for renaming three pages does not justify you being awarded mover rights to fight that crusade over the objections of others.--TwoTailedFox (talk) 21:45, October 11, 2015 (UTC)

Becasita

I confess I was a bit hesitating in asking for this, since I'm still a rookie here, but anyway, here goes:
I've been dealing with images lately, especially "Special Edition" set images. I've been re-uploading the ".jpg" into ".png" and with a more correct name. But several were already in ".png", so I tagged them for a rename (Example 1, 2, 3, and there are more). They are starting to accumulate, so having mover rights would help me to deal with them by myself, without being dependent. I don't intend to abuse this tool, but it would help a lot. Pendulum (talkcontribs) 16:14, February 12, 2016 (UTC)

So, I guess this is a "no"? Could you guys please give some reasons, so I can improve myself? Pendulum (talkcontribs) 00:37, February 15, 2016 (UTC)
Discussed and granted. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 01:22, February 18, 2016 (UTC)

YuGi Mon Cards

I frequently upload and change episodes for the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime mainly those for arc-v and 5d's and sometimes if I happen to misspell or make a mistake or even swap one picture out for another it'd be beneficial to move the page by myself than waiting for an admin to. I will admit I was quite hesitant posting this here, considering I've only been around for about half a year as well as having 1 or two mixups here. But I may as well try. If I could get a response soon it'd be most helpful. YuGi Mon Cards (talkcontribs) 17:45, June 22, 2016 (UTC)

It's true you upload a good number of images, but mover rights grant you access to more than just dealing with images. Besides, going through some of your contributions, it seems you usually tag them for deletion and re-upload them with a more correct name, instead of tagging them with {{Rename}}. Since the extension for both is the same, you should tag them for a rename and wait for either an administrator or a mover.
By having mover rights, you need to be aware when to move a page/file or when tag one for deletion and re-upload it. So I have some questions:
  • Could you provide some examples where you used {{Rename}}?
  • Could you provide a couple of examples where you discussed whether a page should be moved or not?
Sorry if I seem too picky, but, personally, I am too unsure as of now and you didn't provide any examples.
And let's see if other people have more to say. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 14:02, July 23, 2016 (UTC)
Ok, I guess I got too severe. Sorry about that. I think you could make good use of the rights, and I would trust you with them. The problem I pointed above (about tagging for deletion instead for renaming) could be solved if you had the mover rights. Though, again, it's important to know the correct tag to use and when; but I'd trust you on that.
Does anyone has anything more to say? Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 16:54, July 23, 2016 (UTC)

Vortexdome

I want to be able to rename English archetypes and cards once they have been officially introduced. For example the Stargrails is suggested to be renamed to World Chalice, and I want to be able to do so. Vortexdome (talkcontribs) 02:20, July 8, 2017 (UTC)

I can't tell from your existing edits if you are already aware of this.
Do you know that when you rename a card page, you must also rename its images to use the new name and its gallery, rulings, appearances, etc. pages?
After renaming a page, you'll see a link to a list of pages using the old name. e.g. Special:WhatLinksHere/Stargrail Shrine Maiden Eve. This is to help you fix redirects and update pages that mention the old name.
I'm happy that you're making good edits. I'd feel comfortable granting the "mover" permission, if we can get confirmation you'll be willing to do that cleanup after renaming a card before moving on to the next.
