Before Entering the Battle Phase

"Before Entering the Battle Phase" (バトルフェイズに入（はい）る前（まえ）に, Batorufeizu ni Hairu Mae ni) is a Duel Puzzle in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 5: Expert 1.

Setup

The player has 1000 Life Points. Their hand contains "Cocoon of Evolution", "Tiger Axe", "Mystical Elf", "Skull Servant", "Petit Moth" and "Shadow Specter" and their field contains "Aqua Madoor" in Defense Position.

The opponent has 1000 Life Points and "Ryu-Kishin" in Attack Position.

The player is given the hint This is very basic! If you know that your monsters must be in Attack Position to attack, this will be very easy! The rest of it is not to attack the wrong monster.

Solution

1. Switch "Aqua Madoor" to Attack Position.
2. Summon "Tiger Axe" in Attack Position.
3. Enter the Battle Phase.
4. Attack "Ryu-Kishin" with "Aqua Madoor".
5. Attack directly with "Tiger Axe".
