Card Tips:D2 Shield
- This card can be searched by "Trap Trick", "Trap Tracks", "Lady Labrynth of the Silver Castle", "Lilith, Lady of Lament", "Triple Tactics Thrust", "Angel of Blue Tears", "Farewelcome Labrynth", "Labrynth Set-Up", and other generic searchers.
- Note that this DEF value raise is a permanent effect, lasting until the monster is removed from the field or flipped face-down.
- Send "Stronghold Guardian" from your hand to the Graveyard during the Damage Step for more damage.
- Use monsters that specialize in being in Defense Position such as "Stone Statue of the Aztecs" and "Sauropod Brachion" along with this card to cause major reflect damage.
- Combo this card with "Fairy Box" and "Stone Statue of the Aztecs" or "Sauropod Brachion" for a possible OTK.
- You can have "Canyon" activated to reflect double battle damage like this from ANY Rock-Type monster for even more damages and use "Taunt", "Staunch Defender" or "Battle Mania" to force your opponent to attack.
- Combine it with "Earthbound Immortal Chacu Challhua".
- Since this card's defense boost is permanent, monsters that draw attacks to themselves like Dupe Frog and Ghost Gardna can become effective obstacles against your opponent.
- Combining this card with "Labyrinth Wall" or "Millennium Shield" will give them 6000 DEF. Combine with "Exxod, Master of The Guard" will yeild 8000 DEF.
- This card works extremely well with Inverse Universe.
- Activate D2 Shield on a high DEF monster such as "Stone Statue of the Aztecs", then activate Inverse Universe. If you have another D2 Shield, activate it so it's DEF will once again be 4000. You now have a monster that has the same ATK and DEF as "Obelisk the Tormentor".
- This card is perfect for the "Superheavy Samurai" monsters as not only will it double their DEF, but since they attack while in Defense Position, it's more damage for your opponent, along with a higher chance of taking their monster out.
