Alright, we've got a new Deck Contest for you all! This time you have to build a Deck based on a certain animal, like a dog, cat, snake, dinosaur, whatever you prefer. If you want in on the Contest, let me know on my User Talk Page! Deadline for registration will be next Wednesday!

We've reached the limit!

  • Ok, that's it! I cannot allow anymore contestants, so please do not ask me anymore about entering! I'm very sorry that it filled up so quickly, but I didn't expect there to be so much interest.

In addition, please refrain from commenting on our decks until we have all posted them.

To those in the contest, please try to come up with a creative & original name for your deck & please specify what animal you are using. I will be using Dogs.

I like Turtles

User: 3-D

Animal Choice: Turtles

Although little over half of my monsters are turtles, pretty much all other monsters revolve around them. The main win condition is to abuse Catapult Turtle's effect. With Sangan/Ocean or Mother Grizzly, it can be searched and summoned easily. Ocean's ATK increase also allows for more burn with Catapult. Don Turtles provides quick tribute fodder, Gora Turtle is protection in a turtle. Gora Turtle of Illusion was purely last pick of Turtles, either that or Island Turtle. Pyramid Turtle is the only non-water turtle, but he is probably more important than most of the others. He thins the deck, is Avarice fodder and gets me the bigger zombies, both beatsticks and good for Catapult burn. Airbellum is merely there to get out Dark Strike Fighter for, at times, quicker burn. For the spells, Avarice and Salvage replenish card advantage and let's me reuse monsters, and with the the amount of monsters, are less likely to be dead draws. Cold Wave sets up the OTK. Lightning Vortex, Hammer Shot, Smashing Ground and Bottomless Trap Hole are there to allow direct attacks, should Cold Wave not be there, making it easier to finish with burn. 3-D 06:22, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Welcome to the Doghouse!

I love dogs(& yes, I consider wolves to be dogs, also), & what's not to love about them? They have amazing sense of smell & hearing, & they're loyal. So why not have a Deck that's the exact same(excluding the smell & hearing part)? Here's the Deck I built to honor our loyal companions:

The Strategy of the Deck is kinda like that of a Beatdown Deck, but a little more sophisticated. You start off by beating face with "bone"-ified beatsticks like Nin-Ken Dog & Mad Dog. You have Shiba-Warrior serving as your Tuner & defacto-blocker. Ryko will help clear the field of any threats too large for your dogs to handle, & he can also send Green Baboon, who isn't technically a dog, into the grave, ready to back up any fallen comrades. Now, you don't have to worry about Deck outs, because that's where Outstanding Dog Marron comes in. Whenever he is sent to the grave, he is shuffled back into the Deck. so Ryko's mills won't kill you when you least expect it & you don't have to worry about Deck Destruction strategies. Also, Guard Dog is your tech card here. He'll help prevent your opponent from going on a Special Summon rant.

After you've done some damage with the smaller Dogs, it's time to let the larger ones off their leash. Ghost Knight of Jackal is literally your 'main deck' version of Goyo, as he can steal any monster that he destroys in battle. But wait, what if he's not strong enough? That's why I included Wild Nature's Release & Shrink. Those cards will help your Dogs get over just about any obstacle. Monster Reincarnation gives you a way to get back your fallen Dogs.

The Key here is to beat face with your Doggie Beatsticks & keep them protected from other predators. After your smaller dogs have done their thing, let the "big dogs"(pun intended) come in & finish the job. By then, they will overwhelm your opponent, who will have no way to come back from the predicament they've found themselves in. & I've also managed to include key staples, like Cold Wave, Solemn, Dark Bribe, & Mirror Force, so don't worry. I made this Deck with the competition in mind.

Land Down Under

I chose Koalas (and before you ask no I don't like Chumley from GX) because... well they're just very cuddly xD also they are one of the many 'Symbols' of Australia.

The main Strategy of this deck is to Beat your opponent with high attacking beatsticks. I'll use multiple methods of attack point manipulation with Sea Koala and Tree Otter to increase the amount of damage I can inflict. Since swarming is the 'Big thing' in the meta at the moment I use Gyaku-Gire Panda forcing my opponent to think twice before getting a massive field advantage. What would any Koala deck be without Master of Oz? well this deck is no exception as he has the highest attack of any Fusion and on top of that if he's destroyed I can bring him back with Monster Reborn! This card followed by Wild Nature's Release a direct attack makes me only 100 Life Points away from game.

If I find it hard to get field presence I'll go with a burn strategy making the most of Des Koala's effect also Ojama Trio combined with Gyaku-Gire Panda and Enemy Controller and give me at least 2600 points of damage in an single attack. Now for the Spell and Traps, I use Gravity Bind for stalling also since most of my Monsters are Level 3 or lower it doesn't really affect my playing while it'll disrupt my opponent a lot (hopefully). Wild Nature's Release is sort of self explanatory since it gives my Beast-Type monsters, in most cases, a high attack power ranging from a mediocre 1300 to a Game Breaking 7900 this just shows the difference on card can make. The multiple fusion cards are just to get a 'Tag Team' of Master of Oz and Big Koala, which I'll revive with Monster Reborn once it's sent to the grave an alternative way I get Bog Koala in the Grave/Field is with Reasoning as since it's level 7 it rare that if I pick it up that my opponent will chose a level that high.

That's pretty all I have to say about my deck vote for me and remember the fastest way to a Koala's heart is through it's Stomach xD. --Trivi-AM 20:58, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Small Birds, Big Eggs (LOL)

This deck has an interesting strategy(s). It uses the swarming power of Blackwings and combines it with the devestating effect of Burden of the Mighty. Sorry for the three non-Bird cards, that was un-avoidable. I guess you can call Harpie Queen a bird, right? Well, back to the deck. Burden makes small birds bigger, leaving my enemies Stardust Dragon at 1700 ATK Points - a monster who can be easily crushed with most monsters in my deck. I tossed in Dark Simorgh so I could attack freely without the fear of Trap cards.
In order to successfully use Dark Simorgh, I added many cards which dump themselves into the graveyard, e. g. Dragunity - Black Spear, Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind (when Tuning), D.D. Crow, and Harpie Queen (which is also a great beatstick). They also there own great effects. Dragunity can revive Winged Beasts (and is also a tuner), Gale can permanently halve a monsters ATK, D.D. Crow ends monster revival, and Harpie Queen can search for my single copy of Harpie's Hunting Ground, which can give some of my monsters that extra boost to swing over most Burdened monsters.
I know what you are thinking: "bewk, y r u not using 'return frum the different dimension'?" Because, it's a huge dead draw. Just think of drawing it on your first turn (or in a tough spot). Yay, now life sucks. And because this deck is tightly packed, there is no room for that card.
Anyways, Icarus Attack is used for card removal and for grave refueling, T-Roar is for stalling and safety from the OTKs. These two oddly-placed two Monster Reincarnations have two purposes: they will get Dark Simorgh back in my hand and will load the grave with more DARKs and WINDs. And...well...thats all.
This is a great deck, and I hope you - the rater - agrees. Before I go, I would like to say something: "birdz luv 2 eat dogz + turtlz! lolz xD"
So, now you know who to vote for: -bewk/Blue-Eyes White Kid

A Ghost

Animal: Phantom Beasts

I dont not have as much to say as previous people. But Here is my Phantom Beast deck.It heavily focuses on Beast-Warrior support so thats why theres Wild Nature's Release, Enraged Battle Ox, and Sogen. The deck also serves as a half beatstick deck.D.D. Crow is the tech since todays meta revolves around the grave,so D.D. Crow can stop JD,Phantom of Chaos,Wulf, Lightsworn Beast and Plaguespreader Zombie.Vote for me on me Airbellum.--Airbellum 23:27, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Lizards on the loose

User: Overlordzorc

Animal: Lizards

It's taken a bit of time but here is the deck. It is a simple deck, that is not very powerful. It's main purpose if anything is beat down. I was aiming for a deck with balance and style. Utilizing the series of Gagagigo monsters for their ability as the best normal reptile monsters. (They also remind me of lizards.) I was originally going to make a turtle deck but when I came to check out the contest, it seemed that the theme was already taken, so I came up with something else. If anything this is much a tribute to my friend, because his favorite monster Gagagigo. There are a few themes that this deck utilizes with lizards. Burden of the Mighty resembles what many monitor lizards find as their main food source, eggs. In any case the deck is based on Gagagigo and several other lizards. Tell me what you think and vote if you are sold on the idea. :D--Overlordzorc 21:38, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
