Forum:Felgrand Dragon deck

Mirage Dragon,Exploder Dragon,Tiger Dragon,Interplanetarypurplythorny Dragon I am unsure about keeping. When I got the Rise of the True Dragons structure deck, I decided to try to adapt my current dragon deck into a felgrand one. Any and all changes are appreciated.

I would recommend something like this, as opposed to the deck list you posted. The reason for that is you need more ways to Special Summon "Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand" and "Arkbrave Dragon" from your Graveyard. Also, a lot of the older dragons you included aren't very good (i.e. the original "Felgrand Dragon") and a lot of the Spells/Traps/Monsters are a bit situational. You may question having a total of 13 Level 7+ monsters, but that's where Dragon Ravine comes into play. That card opens up so many of the combos with my deck it's not even funny. If you have YGOPro already, I suggest testing the deck I posted that way in case you do not have access to all of these cards.

Also about your deck list, you can only have one copy of "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon" in your deck. It's Limited in tournament play. But I am even considering replacing "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon" with something else once I can figure out what that something is because I never draw into or need him to bring out all of the Xyz Monsters in my deck list in less than 8-10 turns.

I would also suggest focusing on "Number 95: Galaxy-Eyes Dark Matter Dragon" and not so many Synchro Monsters because a Felgrand Deck can bring out Rank 8 monsters (and by extension, Number 95) more easily than it can Synchro Monsters based on my testing in YGOPro. Also Dark Matter can send a lot of your Dragons to the Graveyard (Felgrand, Arkbrave, and The White Stone of Ancients are the best options) even if its Summon is negated because sending those dragons to the Graveyard is a cost, and that cannot be negated. "Dragon Ravine" and "Dark Matter Dragon" are must haves for a Felgrand Deck in my opinion because of how many plays they can open up.--Cyber Dragon (Talk) (Contributions) 22:59, July 24, 2016 (UTC)

I appreciate the suggestion, but the cost of that deck is ludicrous. I would appreciate some cheaper suggestions. 3ountyhunter (talkcontribs) 05:26, July 25, 2016 (UTC)

I made that deck in YGOPro, so I can't really suggest cheaper alternatives (not that I would change anything if I did ever build this deck in real life, it would depend on what I come across for cheap). A lot of these cards can be bought and cheaply easily though, i.e. "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" in Saga of Blue-Eyes White Dragon Structure Deck, "Wall of Disruption" in Starter Deck: Yuya, "Call of the Haunted" and "Oasis of Dragon Souls" in Rise of the True Dragons Structure Deck, "Solemn Warning" in Synchron Extreme Structure Deck. So far as I'm aware, the only truly expensive card in here (based on Wal-Mart's prices) is "Full Armor Photon Dragon" and "Solemn Strike".--Cyber Dragon (Talk) (Contributions) 11:15, July 25, 2016 (UTC)
Nearly all the cards you listed are of extreme expense.

Blue eyes spirit dragon $28 per card, Crystal Wing synchro $25, White Stone of ancients $18 Galaxy-Eyes Full Armor Photon Dragon $18 And so on. In total this deck tops out at nearly $200, which I cannot afford. I appreciate your help. Unfortunately since you seem to be the only one helping, I guess it will remain as is.

Well, you can probably get some of those cards for cheaper just by buying Booster Packs or singles on Wal-Mart. I've gotten 2x Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon, 1x Dragon Spirit of White, and 2x The White Stone of Ancients from only 3-4 Shining Victories pack. I also bought Number 95: Galaxy-Eyes Dark Matter Dragon off Wal-Mart's website for less than $7. It's also pretty easy to get 3x Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon, 3x Blue-Eyes White Dragon, 3x Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand, and 3x Arkbrave Dragon through the new movie pack and of course the Rise of the True Dragons deck. I already have the majority of the cards listed and I doubt I've even spent anywhere near $100 (in a large part due to Wal-Mart's site having a lot of single cards for cheap).
I have 33 / 40 of the main Deck Cards, and 6 / 15 of the Extra Deck cards, and I really doubt I've spent $200 for them all. (I made changes to my deck list with those I don't have any of in bold text and others with notes of how many I have so far if I do not have the listed number yet). Though I assume you're talking about the prices on Ebay/Amazon/etc., not getting them from booster packs or per-constructed decks?--Cyber Dragon (Talk) (Contributions) 22:45, July 25, 2016 (UTC)

If I may give a suggestion and If you let me guess, I would say you maybe bought two copies of the Rise of The True Dragons deck? In that case I would suggest you included two copies (or three if you can) of both Black Dragon Collapserpent and Dragon Ravine, along with an Eclipse Wyvern, these allow you to search for Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon (Which is limited to 1) and set your field on a single turn. All you need is Both Black dragon and Dragon Ravine on your hand, discard any card for the effect of Ravine (but it is better if you pick something like Arkbrave Dragon or Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand) to send Eclipse Wyvern to the Graveyard, activating it's effect to remove REDMD from your deck, then you Special Summon Black Dragon Collapserpent by removing Eclipse Wyvern, which in turn adds REDMD to your hand. And you can summon it right away by removing Collapserpent from the field and you are ready to start recruiting dragons to your field -maybe even starting by the Monster you discarded for Ravine's Effect. (If you go this route, also put one or two White Dragon Wyverbursters on the deck to keep cycling through and thin the deck)

With Arkbrave on your Deck, Tiger Dragon is very redundant. I would also remove Red-Eyes Wyvern from the deck, unless I had the room to spare. Decoy Dragon is also not so much of a good idea, it is good as a stall card, but you need to force your opponent to attack it in order to summon anything, and that space is better occupied by something with teeth. Felgrand is also too slow of a card, you can get around it's summoning conditions by using it as an equip for Paladin or Guardian of Felgrand, but again the deck is crowded so I would run at most a single copy. I would put another Arkbrave dragon if I could, and cards like Trade-in, and Foolish burial to speed the deck. Honest is also occupying space, you have some cool Light Dragons, but you have a mix of elements here and you risk it being a dead draw. Kidmodo is cool, but I'm wary of cards that don't let you attack in order to get their effects. You also need more tuners.

If you follow the suggestions your deck would look like this

I hope I was helpful.
