Forum:Once Again- Doz Bate's Six Samurai

From Yugipedia
Jump to: navigation, search

Once again I'm posting my main (and only) deck, my Six Samurai's. The Side Deck is still not finished, so that is the main area for help. Also would like the deck to have a little extra consistency, but it is performing remarkably well on DN and in real life.

EDIT: +2 Effect Veiler, 1 Zanji -1 Kageki, 1 Mirror Force, 1 Heavy Storm

Thank you for looking through it, and I'm looking forward to response's.

Nobody got any suggestions/critisisms at all?

Why Cunning, why Spirit, why no Scrap Dragon, and why no Solemn Judgment? 207.233.120.2 (talk) 16:11, February 3, 2012 (UTC)

Spirirt allows extra draw power for the deck, whilst allowing Shi En to reach 3000 Atk with the ability to not be destroyed. Cunning is a way to quickly bring back Shi En from the grave or to reuse an effect of a samurai. As for Scrap Dragon, it is simply because I don't own one. For Solemn Judgment, I havent really needed it, but it is still a card I could try and fit in.

I know I've said this before, but there are better cards than Cunning (eg, Call of the Haunted). I beg you to consider an alternative and try the Deck without it. BF2 Talk Deck Guides 13:57, February 7, 2012 (UTC)

I will test other alternatives to Cunning of the Six Samurai, however it isn't a BAD card as is suggested by others. I have yet to find it's downside if I'm honest. But could you give me a couple of suggestions to swap it for?

How about The Warrior Returning Alive ? --Kungfu-mama (talkcontribs) 15:22, February 8, 2012 (UTC)

You need better trap supports and I would advise you to add solemn judgement or warnings cause they're the best traps around. Take out double edge sword cause only noob people use them.

Hmmm. I'd hardly consider you a noob, Doz. And, by the way, anonymous poster - I took the leading space out of your posting to make it readable. --Kungfu-mama (talkcontribs) 17:43, February 8, 2012 (UTC)

YCS Guadalajara

Hey, Doz - lookee at what won in YCS Guadalajara: Winning YCS Guadalajara

Too bad Maxx C is going for $50 a pop now. --Kungfu-mama (talkcontribs) 19:35, February 8, 2012 (UTC)

I read that article and it confirmed what I already assumed, that Dino-Rabbit CAN'T handle a well built Six Samurai deck. However (I maybe wrong here) I found flaws with the deck's build. First off, 3 Kageki's I find is necassary when maining Enishi, for use with Asecticism and genral swarming. Also with Smoke Signal, Gateway, and ROTA all at 1. I find it is now vital to have between 17-22 monsters in the deck, atleast 90% of which are Samurai, which doesn't leave room for trip Max C or Veiler.

That being said, it goes to show Samurai, even with banlist bitching them, are still very viable. Which leads me to ask: withCunning of the Six Samurai being the card that is useless (in some opinion's) what should I replace it with, and also, is there room in the main deck to accomodate Veiler's and a Max C or 2?

Doz Bate: Stay (sic)!! 00:15, February 9, 2012 (UTC)

Any more suggestions/comments people? Doz Bate: Stay (sic)!! 10:50, February 15, 2012 (UTC)

I think that your comment about the number of Sams you need is accurate if you aren't running all those Maxx "C"s, but the draw power/sort of control they give makes a lower sam count work. since it's stupidly expensive, it might be hard to fit cards like Effect Veiler in, but if you want 1, I would just drop Cunning of the Six Samurai and Spirit of the Six Samurai and put in a Veiler (or two if you want the deck back to 41 cards). Jcfblack (talkcontribs) 20:27, February 15, 2012 (UTC)

Veiler for Cunning seems worth a test, however Spirit will stay in the deck, for the draw power it can provide, along with the ability to protect the monster it is equipped to. Doz Bate: Stay (sic)!! 22:51, February 15, 2012 (UTC)

I agree that that part is cool, it just seems like there would always be a better use of your normal summon (also, it can't protect you from bottomless/warning/dimensional which are the biggest defensive traps so...). 99.149.182.54 (talk) 23:13, February 15, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks to the banlist I have got a 2nd Shien's Smoke Signal to include in the deck. It is most likely going to replace Cunning of the Six Samurai Also with Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier being banned, I need a replacement in my extra deck. Any ideas?

Doz Bate: Stay (sic)!! 11:45, February 19, 2012 (UTC)

Not quite as good as Trish, but why not Mist Wurm? It was pretty popular before Trish was released. --97.127.1.68 (talk) 17:26, February 20, 2012 (UTC)

So I'm looking up the price of some of those cards on ebay, and their prices are insane. $30 for the Naturia syncrhos??? However, I thought Tour Guide was bad, and then I looked up Maxx C. Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn. I'd rather spend that money on booster packs and take my chances.

Thank the gods I am a casual player.

Dr Kain (talkcontribs) 18:46, February 20, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah. And I thought I'd paid too much when I'd bought Maxx C for $12! I'm willing to bet Konami reprints it soon. So just sit tight. BTW, Doz, I think even 1 Maxx C would be helpful to your samurais. I knew a person running X-Sabers that worked in one, and it was a game changer more often than not. ---Kungfu-mama (Talk) 00:42, February 21, 2012 (UTC)

Mist Wurm's price has risen since Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier was revealed to be banned next format, so I'll have to see if I can get hold of one cheaply, currently I'm running Thought Ruler Archfiend over it, as it is my last available Synchro to me. Maxx "C" would be beneficial yes, but I have trouble fitting it in, especiallly considering I wouldn't mind an Effect Veiler or 2 mained. What changes would you make to include 1 Maxx "C" and 2 Effect Veiler's? (bearing in mind that Cunning of the Six Samurai is probably being replaced by the 2nd Shien's Smoke Signal)

Doz Bate: Stay (sic)!! 01:07, February 21, 2012 (UTC)

The only thing I can think of is for you to drop Elder down to 2 and see if a single Maxx C makes any difference. You can always side-deck the third Elder. ---Kungfu-mama (Talk) 03:25, February 21, 2012 (UTC)

I'll test it and see how things go.

Also could you have a look at the other deck im making at the moment: http://yugioh.wikia.com/index.php?title=Forum:Doz_Bate%27s_Latest_Deck:_Simorgh_Ninja%27s&t=20120221030935

Doz Bate: Stay (sic)!! 03:29, February 21, 2012 (UTC)

Which would you say is better having, 2x MST or 1 MST and 1 Heavy Storm?

As for you deck, you know what, I would say take out 1 Ascetism unless you have luck with them. The only ones that work with it are Elder/Kagamusha and Kizan/Zanji, and you have to hope one of them is on the field or is going to be on the field to even use it. It ends up being a dead draw for me since I usually synchro Kagamusha the moment I put him on the field.

BTW, Starlight Road and of course the Solemn brigade would be perfect for this deck. I know you said above you have never needed to use it, but with the way the game is currently, no deck should be without at least Judgment.

Dr Kain (talkcontribs) 04:02, March 12, 2012 (UTC)

KAgeki also works with Ascetisism, to grab Enishi. So I feel I have enough targets for me to run at 3. Running it at 3 also lets me use it for the cost of Landoise's effect, just incase it does become dead.

I response to the Solemn's and Starlight Road, I still can't really see the need for them. Yes they are great cards that can change games, but I have yet to be in a situation where I have needed to negate a summon, or half my lifepoints for 1 negation. However with that being said, If I could fit them in the deck easily, without changing too much I will do.

Doz Bate: Stay (sic)!! 11:18, March 12, 2012 (UTC)

How does Ascetism work with Kageki? He only has 200 ATK.

Dr Kain (talkcontribs) 15:52, March 12, 2012 (UTC)

Kageki hit's 1700 when another Six Samurai is face-up on the field with it, which makes it's attack the same as Enishi's for use with Ascetisim

Doz Bate: Stay (sic)!! 17:02, March 12, 2012 (UTC)

Wait, you mean Ascetism is used... for whatever attack they have on the field?

...

I have been playing this card all wrong for the last two weeks. That means that when Kizan is at 2100, Ascetism can be used to bring out Grandmaster right?

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan, I hate these unstated card rules. There are so many duels I could have possibly won had I known this.

Dr Kain (talkcontribs) 17:07, March 12, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, Ascetisism says ATK not Original ATK, meaning as long as there is a target in the deck with an ATK equal to your monsters on the field, you can summon it.
