Forum:The Dragon's Bead vs. Solemn warning

Knowing that cards like jinzo and Royal Decree, once they're active, they stop counters as well... despite they technically do not have the spell speed for it (oddly enough LADD cannot negate counter traps even though he is stated similarly to jinzo, at least from what is believed around here)

So in example, would The Dragon's Bead be able to negate counter traps like solemn warning or judgment if The Dragon's bead were active before the summon of the Dragon in question... I feel I know the answer but I need to confirm this for future reference... -Abs0luti0n

Counter Trap is Spell Speed 3, too faster for any Spell Speed 2 or lower, only successful countered by other Counter Trap Cards. I am sorry but to burst your bubble. --FredCat 01:15, June 8, 2011 (UTC)

It's no problem... just too much confusion about rulings and spell speeds seeing as how some cards speed 2 can still negate counter traps... on another note though, would you mind elaborating how solemn judgment and solemn warning do not target, especially since dark illusion can negate solemn judgment if used on a monsters summon...

Jinzo and Royal Decree are Continuous Effects, they merely apply when applicable and do not use Spell Speeds because they do not Activate.

Spell Speed 1 can be beat by Spell Speed 2, and Spell Speed 2 can be beat by Spell Speed 3. Only Spell Speed 3 can be beat up via it own group. Just to be sure to remember that in future.
