Forum:The September 2010 List Prediction (The Psychid Edition)

What you are about to see is my prediction for the Forbidden/Limited list for September 2010. Please note that this is for the cards that might be added to the lists and not the ones that already are. Also note that like most forum posts such as this, this is only a prediction, meaning that it will not be confirmed that these cards will be added to the list. Furthermore, I will give a proper explanation of why I think such cards should deserve such status changes.

And now, I present to you my prediction of the Forbidden/Limited list for September 2010. Please enjoy:

FORBIDDEN

  • Temple of the Kings - Since this card is already Forbidden in the OCG, it will most likely be Forbidden in the TCG, as well. ...Actually, it will; if you don't believe me, then look at this.
  • Red Nova Dragon - Okay, let's be serious: a card that can't be destroyed by card effects, gains ATK based on the number of Tuners in one's Graveyard, and can remove itself from play to avoid cards such as Wisel? Come on! ...Of course, I highly doubt it will quickly be Forbidden now, but I'm sure it will be, soon enough.

LIMITED

  • Earthbound Immortal Chacu Challhua - Normally with an effect that can prevent the opponent from attacking along with inflicting burn damage once a turn, this card should be Forbidden. However, with the fact that only one copy of this card can be on the field at a time, along with the fact that it needs a Field Spell to be in play, it should probably be Limited, instead.
  • Sun Dragon Inti - I think one copy of this card in the Extra Deck is good enough, don't you think?
  • Moon Dragon Quilla - See the above reason for Sun Dragon Inti.
  • Black-Winged Dragon - A card that can decrease an opponent's monster's ATK and inflict burn damage seems rather unfair. I was originally thinking that it should be Forbidden; but seeing that it can lose ATK due to its own effect kind of changes it from Forbidden to Limited. Plus, this card will probably have to make some appearance in whatever World Championship 2011 game will be created soon.
  • Black Whirlwind - A card that can add monsters from one's Deck to one's hand when a certain monster is summoned, thus making Synchro Summoning easier, seems rather unfair at this point.

SEMI-LIMITED
(No cards in mind)

NO LONGER LIMITED
(No cards in mind)

Yes, I apologize if the information wasn't that useful; but I have done all that I could (kind of).

I hope you enjoyed it, everyone! --Yes, it's PSYCHID! He talks! He does stuff! 15:51, July 18, 2010 (UTC)

A few things:

  • The thing about Red Nova Dragon is that it can only remove itself to negate attacks in the OCG. In the anime it was broken (it can dodge Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier, etc). Nowadays it's just a matter of pulling out your Brionac and wiping it off the field.
  • Nobody runs Burn decks in the meta so Black-Winged Dragon is not broken.
  • Why Inti and Quilla? They only work well in the right deck, and that's not even really competitive.
  • EBIs (especially non-Aslla piscus like Chacu Challhua) are not really that threatening or competitive when everyone runs some sort of monster or spell/trap removal effect. See earlier comment on Red Nova Dragon, but this can be destroyed as well.
